I love avatar, but it’s undeniable (imo) that the show takes a massive leap in quality when they add Toph to the group - that’s when the show goes from really good to all time great.

2023-08-24 22:21:19 First episode 6/10. Second episode 4/10. As soon as we saw the old king, I'm like, "that's Bumi." And then when Bumi said, "say my name" and a shocked Aang goes "you're Heisenberg" and then Bumi said, "you're goddamn right!" I lost my shit. But no actually, I knew that was Bumi the first second they showed him and knew he was going to ask Aang to say his name as the last challenge. The episode was better than the second one because of Bumi. This show actually made me slightly chuckle from the Lettuce Leaf joke. Second episode was pretty bad. Katara was supper annoying in that one and is now officially part of the race to see who is the most annoying character between Aang, Sokka, and Zuko. So the Warden who has no problem putting prisoners in solidary confinement over the slightest thing and killing his subordinates for minor reasons is somehow letting Katara give a whole ass speech trying to start a riot, not once but twice, yeah ok. Overall, the show is still way too childish for me. And when the best character in your show is Bumi, then you have a real big problem. Only redeeming quality so far is the creative ways they use their powers, everything else is straight garbage.

Love this show sm. It did take me a while to get into it when I first watched it and these two eps weren't my favorite lol. Next batch of episodes were the first to really get me intrigued. Also when I rewatched the first time (first time of many) I really loved episode 3.

i do agree the first season is abit childish and is not the strongest (keep in mind its still a kids show) but the show gets better, and thats one of the reasons i love legend of korra. its definitely made for a maturer audience and the show is just better in every way

I agree with you. Few of my least favorite episodes of the ATLA franchise because of how frustrating it is to watch. I am pretty pumped for you though as it will get a bit interesting in the next couple of episodes and especially the next season (or Book 2), is where the franchise will truly shine. Hope you stick to watching bud!

towards the end of Book 1 is where it gets good for some, most people are completely enthralled by Book 2. Book 3 is absolutely legendary.
