I think I should have mentioned this earlier, but the Number of the tropp is just the number and doesn't mean what "rank" they are inside of the troop. If I remember collectly, I think it is just the number of when they joined. ofcourse there are exception like Hisoka because he took the number from the "original" member.

Fun fact in one of the random panels from the manga: In an arm-wrestling competition (excluding nen abilities), the members of the phantom troupe rank as follows: Uvogin - Phinks - Hisoka - Franklin - Feitan - Machi - Chrollo - Bonolenov - Nobunaga - Shalnark - Pakunoda - Shizuku - Kortopi. An interesting ranking. Makes you think if the troupe members’ affinities play a factor with their standing. Also, Gon’s position. 👀 That was a crazy episode! Chrollo’s finesse is just 😮‍💨

These types of comments are spoiler-ish. One of the best feeling about shows that do a lot of foreshadowing is later, after an event happens, realizing all the foreshadowing that was done for that event. Pointing out the foreshadowing for something that hasn't happened yet tends to ruin the moments when they do happen.

With ep 51 I remember thinking that this no longer has the same tone as before and also felt I was watching a different show. I love the requiem scene, my brother was watching HxH when was airing and I remember he showed me the scene the week that happened, of course I didn't understand lol but years after when I finally watched, it's one of my favorite moments in the whole show!

yeah, its called backseating. Its a light form of spoiler disguised as advice. Whatshisbucket on the far right's favorite endeavor. you seamlessly manipulate the viewers by saying "oh you are not ready for so and so episodes", "next episode is my favorite of the show"... and so on so forth. It seems harmless by if you stop to think about why the person is saying that you can end up spoiling yourself. thats why even that is dangerous. Though i guess they are learning. they haven't been majorly spoiler yet.

In ep 50 when y'all were wondering why Gon and Killua were even trying to escape, I think from their perspective they just don't really know how likely or not it is that the leader would accept them. They get told they have extraordinary talent everywhere they go (like what Wing said, 1 in 10mil or whatever) so it's not too far-fetched that the Troupe would want to snag that talent. And if they do get accepted, they have no say in the matter and are now in the custody of the Phantom Troupe. So in a sense they feel they need to escape to preserve their freedom.

Actually! She’s one of my faves and there were not enough scenes for her and her abilities. The fact that Hisoka likes her (whether or not as a target) gives the impression that she’s powerful to some degree.

I am sure Chrollo would factor in their interest in joining as he would not want to force someone to join the troupe against their will. I think Killua is definitely more willing to escape given he knows the true identity of the chain user, and the longer they stay and the more they will be interrogated and give away information on Kurapika in the second round of questioning.

What makes the PT so compelling as a group is the dichotomy between their ruthlessness and humanity, as showcased in these two episodes. They’re presented as a group of cruel, irredeemable criminals, but we also see the genuine bonds they have with each other. Their dynamic, strong sense of camaraderie and “it’s us against the world” mentality is what’s makes them so interesting to me.

I'd argue that it makes them even more cruel because they are a group who understands loss and they care about each other but then they kill so many others even with that knowledge showing their extreme selfishness. A murderer who understands the pain they cause to others is worse than one who doesn't imo

Chrollo and Neon just casually sitting at the table and chatting in a high end hotel suite, while she writes his fortune and he reads it, with that amazing track playing, and the beautiful Yorknew skyline in the background... man, such an underrated 10/10 scene. I can't even explain why it's so mesmerizing to me, like I feel like I want to live that scenario IRL or something. Both of their voice actors are so good too.
