Also not sure if this is super convoluted (probably is) but would love if you guys gave ratings separately for the music, the visuals/animation, and maybe something like the "vibe"/how well the opening captures the spirit of the show or season, as well as overall rating. Just a possible suggestion, I know it probably over-complicates things 🤣 I know you guys aren’t as big fans of Demon Slayer compared to the other shows, and the opening visuals aren’t anything too crazy, but I was surprised how low you all rated the S1 opening when Gurenge by LiSA is considered one of the best anime songs of all time! Definitely check out her performance of Gurenge on The First Take on YouTube, it has 135 million views for a reason, her voice is INCREDIBLE!

My 1st would be either CSM or Vinland S2 part 1. The Vinland one consistently gives me chills at the part where the hands reach up to grab Thorfinn (plus I love the song). CSM I think is one of the most visually and audible interesting ones, and I heard it on repeat for weeks when I first got to know it. Honorable mention goes out to all the Vinland and JJK openings though, especially JJK1 and Hidden Inventory.

Of course you know what spoils what now because now you know what you are looking at lmfao. You have the full context of the show dudes. Why do people act like they would know the full scope of a story just by seeing a 1 second sequence. It’s so weird… Edit: I’ll admit that I am taking this more personally than I probably should be since my wife is an animator and also creative director and I know how it irks her to know that people skip things that so many people spend literal months making. Even if it’s 1 minute and 30 seconds, months go into making things like this. Sure, you watch it later but you watch it once the mystery is gone and you have the full picture. There are no more surprises for you when you watch it at the end. There are no Easter eggs. There’s just visuals for a story that you now completely know.

Man this was worth the waiting As everything in life, music is very subjective to each other taste, but I agree that Vinland openings are amazing ♥️ I even listen to some of them everyday, Survived said the prophet became my most listened artist in 2023 lol I hope we get the same for endings, there're some amazing songs!!

While it is true that spoilers without context are sometimes not really spoilers, that isn’t always the case. And while I do think OPs more often than not add a ton to the watching experience from creating hype or setting the mood, and I personally would like for the Geks to see them, I think even moreso that the decision lies with themselves. Asbjørn, I will say that I agree with it being their decision on whether or not they want to ignore all of the openings until months later where it no longer has meaning. And I was excited to see how they would do it. But to see how the only thing that they did over and over was just talk about the spoilers they found over and over and then say “you see, this is why I will never watch anime openings. Look at all these spoilers!” Or “WHY WOULD THEY SHOW THAT?” Or “Seriously? I can’t believe they would add that.” It just ruins the experience now that you know what revolves around those moments shown.

McKay, It’s just weird where you guys draw the line. For example, when you watched the 3 Solo Leveling trailers, the JJK Shibuya trailer (that had the OP song and actual anime footage), and the AOT final trailer, did that not give you leading information about what the show(s) were going to be about? If you were that worried about ruining the story for yourself by watching an OP, I’d assume you keep away from things like trailers too. Especially since those even have dialogue. At the end of the day it’s your choice of course.

Imo the outros hold so much more weight when watching the relevant content for me and is part of why they are so hype. I hear them and it reminds me of what happens that arc cuz I hear it before each episode and that connection is there. Idk if I'd have it if I only listened to a song once at the end of the year. Oh another thing from comments about all the spoilers maybe it's worse for people who can't just not look into it a ton but I kinda just turn off the part of the brain that is looking for clues and just vibe and find I rarely if ever catch spoilers Edit: Nevermind I realize watching it with a group, especially as a reaction channel where people want u to react, wouldn't work so I understand not wanting to for the spoiler aspect for the intros that do, not all spoil necessarily

Other reaction channels will just wait a few eps before watching spoiler heavy ops, until theres no more spoilers and it works good imo. The trailer point is pretty good tho i cant lie some of those trailers they watched have more spoilers than some of these ops lol

yeah waiting till theres not much spoliers is better honestly instead of waiting a year tho in my case i never overanalyze the opening and just vibing with the visuals and song because I like how the opening hypes up the start of an episode. the junpei one caught me off guard tho HAHAAH i was look "cool a new future character" then that episode happened

I mean maybe there’s a better way to avoid them like watching the openings at the end of an arc, but this is something Carter and Cannon wanted to do to avoid spoilers and so we are just rolling with it. At the end of the day i don’t feel like it’s that big of a deal, but I do appreciate the feedback because it helps us make better reactions, thank you!

What most reactors do if they are that scared of watching openings is wait until the arc is complete and then watch it. It’s still a win-win. And being honest, some people join your guys Patreon to experience all parts of the their favorite show with you guys. That means the openings and endings too, not just the episode itself. The thought of them waiting potentially a year just to see you watch an OP or ED can be a bit unfulfilling. For example, people have been waiting months for you to watch the Fullmetal Alchemist openings (of what you seen) and you didn’t even watch those. Would that mean they would have to wait until December 2024 for your next OP reaction? You don’t have to have all the answers now, of course! Ha ha! But I do think it’s worth considering when it comes to your audience in general.
