The Super Famicom Box was made in the 1994 for hotel use. In the hotel room a Super Famicom Box would be locked to the TV under and include a simple way to turn on and use the controller. It is much bigger and heavy than normal Super Famicom and one of the reason is the cartridge is huge!! There is space to put two cartridge into the box at the back. And each cartridge will hold two games including Mario Collection, Mario Kart, Starfox and more.

It is cool thing to own now because was never for sell in shops.. and of course expensive!!

There were only four cartridge made for Super Famicom Box and each one has PSS number. Here is the full list:

  • PSS-61

    • Super Mario Kart

    • Star Fox

    • Super Mario Collection

  • PSS-62

    • New 3D Golf Simulation: Waialae no Kiseki

    • Super Mahjong 2: Honkaku 4 Nin Uchi! I’Max December 2, 1993

  • PSS-63

    • Super Donkey Kong

    • Super Tetris 2 + Bombliss

  • PSS-64

    • Super Donkey Kong

    • Super Bomberman 2

I would be all over that if there was a Sega version. But sadly Sega never released the one they were making.

That's cool that it was for hotel room use! Don't remember seeing anything like that as a kid. Would have been awesome though 😅

The Retro Viking

Yup. Same idea anyway but for home use. It was called the Sega Video Jukebox. But it never made it to production.

Good thing I never was in a hotel that had one of these. I probably wouldn’t have left the room!
