It does when the reason for its placement is to co-opt an existing holiday in other cultures. We don't know any life details about the guy, including his birth and death. That's assuming that the stories are based upon the life of a single person. So why not? The fact that something is nonsense has almost never bothered Christians in regards to anything else.

Rape culture is alive and well, and no one does anything about it. I watched a program on Cosby raping women on ITV (UK channel), it was the first I had encountered this information. I mentioned the program at work. A coworker, republican of course, immediately leaped across the room from his desk to start yelling at me in front of everyone. He unleashed every defense: Those women are after money Those women are jealous of his success Those women are out to destroy him Those women are attention seekers The woman in Duke Lacrosse lied After about five minutes he finally exhausted his tirade. When he finished, I said calmly, "I don't know about all that. All I know is he admitted it in his unsealed deposition." His response? He mumbled, "I don't know anything about that," and slunk off back to his desk. He didn't know anything and he was defending a confessed rapist. Not one person in the office intervened the entire time he berated me at the top of his voice.

Australian here. I had a rupture cerebral aneurysm while travelling in the US. The terror at whether my travel insurance would cover the treatments i needed to keep me alive was fucking wild. And just the fucking bed in the ICU was $150k a night? I dunno how you live like that. FYI the wait times to see a specialist in Australia aren’t any worse than what you described here, and in most cases isn’t related to universal healthcare, but just to availability.
