OK, I am getting sick to fucking death of the suggestion that we in New Orleans were somehow supposed to know to cancel Mardi Gras parades and celebrations, which took place February 6-25. Yes, FEBRUARY! What the fuck was ANY state doing then? Was there ANY suggestion that the U.S. should be doing ANYTHING at that time???? ANY warning from ANY U.S. official ANYWHERE in MID-FEBRUARY??? Shall we yell at Miami and the NFL for not cancelling the Super Bowl? (That would be Miami, with over 1600 known Coronavirus cases as of today). Oh, I'm sorry, I guess THEY are allowed to not be retroactively clairvoyant, but we were somehow supposed to be.

New Orleans called for everyone to "shelter-in-place" at home on March 16. When did YOUR city do that? Lousiana as a whole locked down March 23. Again, when did YOUR state do that? Was it in February? No? Why NOT??? Apparently you all knew everyone should be staying home then, right? I mean, how else could everyone feel justified in telling us how dumb we are? I'm sorry to blow up, but hearing even you guys unfairly slam us is just the straw that broke my back -- after spending 2 solid weeks at home now, I'm going nuts enough without having the rest of the country tell me how stupid we were, for not knowing we should cancel everything *in February.* It's maddening, we'd been trying for many days to get national attention because we could see the medical crisis developing here while NY and CA were getting all the focus. Finally, we managed to get noticed, and what do we get? Derision for not having been psychic. Gee, thanks.
