Bra Straps and Bitch Slaps

Pro-anorexia or "proana/thinspo" sites have been around on message boards for a while. Many of them are linked to "healthy eating" or "fitspo" pages. I know that wasn't the main point of the story, but as someone who used these sites when I was deep in my eating disorder, it's a bit of a special interest for me. But the people who find these pages tend to be obsessed. More obsessed -> more clicks -> more ad exposure. So yeah, sites are hesitant to take these extremist pages down lest they lose a few more cents.

I’m an Oregon/ Washington native. Usually I’m in cities where I don’t have to deal with constant ignorance. But right now I’m in my small hometown taking care of my mom. The hospital here was so full, a person died in the waiting room with covid just waiting for a bed. It’s so bad in this town me and my sister are RELIEVED our father died back in 2014 because he was horribly right winged then, we couldn’t imagine how horrible things would be now.

I have fully given up on Facebook! While I miss connections via select groups. I don’t miss the constant anger and anxiety it gave me! Does CogDis have a discord group? If so I would join that. But I’m glad to be rid of FB!
