I went to a catholic college, too. It was cheaper out of pocket for me than the state school I also applied to, and I got to run track and cross country on scholarship for them. I totally agree about learning how to learn at college. I went in a shitty little anti choice catholic teen, and came out of that school a liberal atheist. The more I learn the more empathy I have toward people. You might enjoy a YouTube channel called Practical Engineering. It's the civil engineering version of the kind of physics shows you talked about.

I have to drive over an hour just to see an underfunded museum. Or a dinosaur museum in the middle of bible country. Any other museum worth seeing would cost us $400 minimum, and two days of travel... Luckily my kids have a super nerd mad scientist for a dad😁
