I think the reason behind the “dress to your gender” BS is even simpler, but in the same vein as what Cecil was saying about their discomfort: at some point, these lawmakers have been sexually attracted to someone they Thought was a CisHet person but who turned out to be transgender or wearing “misleading” clothing and they think that that might mean they’re gay or whatever 😱. Apologies if that was what Cecil meant the whole time!
