I have a trans kid and this hyperventilating woman at the school board meeting is just. so. tiring. Cecil was spot on in pointing out how this just further isolates people who are already very vulnerable.

When my kid came out and I told their dad, he asked what were they teaching in school and I said, my dude, the kids are in a catholic school, what do you think they’re being taught? Kid’s still trans. These people have never met a trans person in their lives (or have and didn’t know it), and are fundamentally incurious about them. Where we are, there have been a bunch of “parents rights” protests lately and it’s all so sad. Sure, like the guys said, these people might love children, but they don’t go so far as to love them as separate persons instead of loving the idea they have of their children.
