Hello friends! So I've received numerous requests over the past year for commission work. I keep turning it down because I'm busy enough as it is. But you know what? I'm going to give it a shot and see how it goes.

In the month of August when I'm back from my Army Reserve training in July I'm going to start a new Tier called the Dragon God. This will be considered my commission tier, where I will charge patrons $100 for that month and they will get one custom 3D modeled mini guaranteed. Given the patron is paying for my time, I feel this is a fair amount to charge that month, as my rate would be normally be $50 an hour, and I usually need two hours to make something.

The limit will be 4 patrons just to test the waters and see how this affects my work flow. I figure one extra model per week wouldn't hurt too badly but we'll see.

In the end this is an experiment. If I find it overwhelming and can't complete all my other priorities then I'll just drop it. I don't want to ruin the experience of everyone else here nor make this less fun. But who knows? It might lead to some interesting models, that I'd obviously share with you all.

Anyway, I'll keep you guys posted. Please share your feedback on your thoughts of this idea. Take care and happy printing!

So do the four patrons decide together what the custom model is, or would they each get a “commission” so to speak?

Allie Laabs

They each get a commission. It's a $100 commission for roughly 2 hours of work at $50/hr

Love the idea. The price is right, and given the backlog on the request board, it’s a way to “jump the queue”. Be fun to do a “paint one of the four models” competition in August!

haha yeah def. Glad you agree on the price. To be honest I'm more worried about how it would affect my work load. We'll see. To be honest if it takes away from the fun or I'm not performing as well as normal I'd just drop it. Thanks for the feedback!

Hi really interested in selling print for pay is there a way I can access your Ts & C's before joing as a patreon?

Most of the models I post on Thingiverse are safe for sales but you need to look up each model and their viability first. This is why I offer my $10 patrons access to a Google Drive that is full of 800+ models that are clear and safe to save them time.
