“Do I even bother?”
Seven is supposed to be a lucky number, but for the melanated spotted leopard, it was an unlucky reminder. With each passing 7th day, the jester that possessed him eagerly counted down the months before it would be his birthday.
But today, everything was silent. Only a red box with gray ribbons rested in front of the panther. “Happy Birthday to the oh so lucky black cat, Miro” is what read on the tag. He checked back on the name tag, but nothing else was written. Sucking his breath, he opened the box, expecting the worst. A cracked eye revealed a red and purple striped birthday hat.
“Huh, that’s weird but neat.”
Miro lifted the party hat, rubbing its glossy plastic texture. It had the same color scheme of the character, Impmon, from the Digimon franchise. He ordered a plastic figurine model of the digimon but it supposedly got “lost” in the mail. The panther shook the box and two cards fluttered onto the table.
“I hope this has something to do with my gift.”
As he picked up the fallen cards, they were lined with a yellow and bright blue border with a bright blue circle. Inside the gift box, a reflective blue liquid began to fill. A low chuckle was heard. Miro examined the fancy writing at the bottom of the card.
“Oh no no no, crap!!”
The feline reacted fast enough to fling the card away but the card floated. It started to twist and contort itself, betraying its paper properties to take on a rubbery one. The card took on a life of its own as it expanded to life size.
“Gotta get, aaaah fuck!!”
Backing out was no longer an option as the panther felt the cool wet sensations on his legs. Miro forgot about the other card that had fallen from the box. He didn’t have time to look at his legs before he was smacked by the floating playing card. The panther twisted and turned as his halves were coated by the gooey cards. Caught and blinded, he was left to his whims as chuckling was heard from the gift box.
“Did ya miss me ol’ buddy? You didn’t think I would forget your birthday. You’re my favor…second fav…you’re one of my better hosts.”
The box was overspilling with blue and yellow goo, coating inside and out. It spilled on the table, chairs and even the special birthday hat. A devious toothy grin revealed itself inside the gift as wetly formed grasped the sides. Pulling itself from its box, the mass of blue and gold goo took on a humanoid feline shape itself. On its head were three protrusions with white balls on the tip. The colors started to segment themselves in alternating patterns. Soon, a motley domino masked feline chuckled as he watched a Miro fully sealed inside the playing card. A firm squeeze on the bulge had the feline cry and squirm.
“Oh, I like the lively ones. That’s why we are partners. And a good partner makes sure his buddy is never underdressed for his birthday. Hmmm…”
Madkat rubbed his chin while the other hands from the box traced along the sensitive rubber outline of Miro.
“Wow, you are down to your birthday suit. That would be a tad inappropriate for outside. No worries, I got that covered!!”
In a flash, Madkat zipped into the toy sized box. More hands pulled the trapped panther down with him. The card squeezed itself into the toy contraption, squeaking like a stressed balloon as it defied logic. With a few tugs, the card disappeared with a pop and the lid closed.
Miro’s darkened world suddenly was brightened by green tints. Tints of bright and dark green that alternated and pulsated. The panther body was compressed from every angle by tightly packed rubber. It oppressively invaded his senses, nose, mouth, butt and every crevice possible. He was forced to hear never ending cackles of their laughter, an enthralling tactic they used on others. All while the bicolored jester enjoyed using the subdued panther partner.
“Oh it feels so goooooood to stretch. Got to stay limber.”
Madkat stood right where Miro was. He pulled and stretched his body in cartoonish proportions. Pops and squeaks were heard as he stretched out his gloved hands and rotated his ankles inside his high length paw boots. Jingles rang as he shocked his head to the side with his body following after.
“Woooo, it is cramped in there. Now then, the REAL party shall commence!!! We’re gonna paint the town in blue and gold, baby!!!!”
Inside his opened hand, the jack-in-the-box appeared in his palm. A giant wooden mallet popped out and landed in his free hand. Giving it a smooch, he ran out of the closest door post-haste. The toy box fell behind landing on the coffee table. As it came to a standstill, small drops of deep purple goo leaked from the lid.
