The shimmering blue gems hovered delicately above Yoshi’s and Ace the Fox’s hands, the light from them casting a surreal glow across the room. These were no ordinary prizes; they were the reward for their ultimate victory in the grand anniversary event of Dragalia Lost.

“I can’t believe we won these,” Yoshi said, his fingers tracing the gem’s smooth edges as it floated just above his palm.

“They’re incredible,” Ace murmured, his vulpine eyes reflecting the glimmer of the gem in his grasp. “Almost… alive?”

Suddenly, the gems pulsed, their glow intensifying into a dazzling brilliance. Before either of them could react, a strange rubbery goo erupted from the gems. The goo, almost liquid but unnaturally cohesive, latched onto their hands and began spreading rapidly across their bodies.

“Y-Yoshi! What is this?!” Ace cried out, his voice tinged with panic as the goo climbed up his arms.

“I don’t know! I can’t—” Yoshi’s voice faltered as the golden-yellow goo engulfed his torso, clinging to his skin with an unyielding grip. His struggles only seemed to feed the substance, which bubbled and reshaped around him, molding his form with startling precision.

Yoshi’s arms bulked up, his muscles swelling as the golden goo reshaped him, layer by layer. His body began to resemble the hulking figure of Gala Thor, the powerful dragon character he adored from Dragalia Lost. His skin shimmered with the glossy sheen of polished rubber, the transformation sculpting massive wings that unfurled from his back in a majestic display. A heavy tail slithered into existence behind him, the goo solidifying into a muscular appendage.

His head was the last to succumb, the goo oozing upward to consume his face. His cries were muffled as the goo solidified into the angular features of a dragon’s head. His identity melted away as his mind was rewritten, his thoughts replaced with those of Gala Thor. When the transformation completed, Yoshi stood tall—a gleaming, rubberized dragon, flexing his powerful claws and wings.

Ace fared no better. The red goo enveloped him in a fiery cascade, its warmth growing hotter as it spread across his body. His once nimble vulpine frame elongated and thickened. His legs became powerful haunches, and his arms reshaped into formidable dragon limbs. His neck stretched unnaturally long, the goo hardening into the iconic form of Mars, the dragon whose fiery wrath Ace admired so much. His skin took on a molten glow, cracks of red light pulsating beneath a shiny blackened surface, resembling cooling magma. A metal helmet materialized over his head, completing the look.

His mind, too, was rewritten. The fiery passion of Mars took hold, and Ace’s identity burned away like ash in the wind. He let out a roar, molten flames dancing from his jaws as he flexed his now-draconian physique.

The room filled with the sound of squeaky rubber as the two dragons shifted and moved, their bodies gleaming under the light. Gala Thor and Mars stood shoulder to shoulder, their mighty wings spreading wide, a pair of living mascots brought to life.

Whatever bonds Yoshi and Ace had once shared as friends were now buried beneath layers of rubber and rewritten minds. They were no longer players but the game itself—icons of power and might, destined to serve as living representations of Dragalia Lost.

And somewhere, perhaps in another realm entirely, the gems glowed faintly again, waiting for their next unsuspecting victors.
