With my End of year break upon us I wanted to once again create something HUGE for you all to cap off the year! I'll be posting about the break later for those who are new. ^_^

About the Comic

It's been a long while since my Last Comic in this setting. Last installment was Mira the boa gal back in 2022. Been of course making artwork set in it though, it's still one of my favorites!

Originally Orville was going to be a crow, but crazy me decided to make him a Falcon instead at the last minute. x_x Luckily I'm getting very efficient at character making, it only took me 2 days to make a Falcon Character that was decent enough for the stage, so it didn't set me back too far!

Marberguson will be helping me brainstorm ideas for the text this time around, as well as, help with proof reading, Thank you Marb! ^o^

The Story

This time we are following Orville who after becoming lost and alone, finds a new family in an unlikely place, changes into a Falcon, and regains his "wings"! ^_^

I wanted to explore a completely different character this time around, almost a polar opposite to Mira personality wise. Going to also be experimenting with some unique camera angles to capitalize on the whole "Bird Theme", should be plenty of fun! ^o^

Page 1 (Prologue)

The Year is 1925 and a struggling Sideshow is about to find its savior in a particularly curious beast, Sidghe . For years she has watched the Sideshow leader struggle and grew found of him, eventually she decided to reveal herself to the Showman and the two of them discovered an inseparable bond. With Sidghe and her fantastic animalistic form heading the shows the simple sideshow turned major attraction quickly and the two partnered up to create what we now know as “The Menagerie Freak Show”.

Along with her fantastic appearance Sidghe also had an equally fantastic ability, the ability to Transform Humans into their “Animal Affinities” turning them into human animal hybrids, many unsuspecting Performers attracted by the fame of the Freak Show have been transformed by her hand, but never have any complained, finding their transformation enjoyable and contributable to their performances.

For years the show has grown, adding more and more Freaks to their line ups, bringing awe and wonder to ever growing crowds of showgoers, all of whom believe the show to be nothing more than smoke and mirrors, but no less impressive and worthy of multiple visits!

But, this months installment isn't about The Menagerie or its many current Freaks, No. Let me introduce to you, Orville the Avianationary Extraordinaire! Some might call him an abandoned soul, left to roam the land alone after serving in the Great War. Despite having served valiantly and with honor as a gunner in our sovereigns first air brigade, the Great War was won, but the fights against his inner demons were lost, and an honorable discharged was his ultimate reward and the loss of his wings a devastation.

Now, left with just the cloths on his back and only a soldiers pittance. No man had ever been so desperate for a place to fit in, a place to call home, a family, than poor Orville. But, a chance encounter with the kind Lady Sidghe and her Freak Show, will change everything! Yes, Orville will get all of this and more while experiencing wonders beyond his imagining!

Sidghe- Welcome to the Magnificent Menagerie, Orville! Welcome Home!

Orville- ….

Sidghe- I don't typically take people in from the street on such short notice, so you will have to call the big top home until we get you a proper place to stay. I hope that's alright?

Orville- It is... Thank you.

MoC- So, YOU are our new member, Orville was it not? Rarely do our new recruits start working so soon after signing a contract!

Orville- I wanted to be useful, I don't like standing idle...

MoC- Well, it's appreciated. But, just a warning, some things might become a bit difficult the further you progress, so I'll like to see you taking it easy from now on, understood?

Orville- Yes sir!

MoC- Heh, no need for that either Orville, we're all family here!

Orville- Arrrs-squawk!!

MoC- Everything OK over there Orville??

Orville- Yeah, just a blown gasket.

Orville(Thoughts)- Blasted Fingers...

MoC- That's the second one today! Take a break and let the engineer handle it. I really don't want to order you, but I will if I have too.

Orville- OK, OK...
Orville(Thoughts)- How much worse can this get? I'll soon be completely useless...

MoC- Now Let Me Introduce! Our Newest Attraction! Mira, The Serpent Whisperer!

Orville(Thoughts)- Mira's on stage again? Guess that's one good thing about losing my ears...

MoC- Watch in Awe as She Hypnotizes You With Her Serpentine Charm. But! Be Weary of Her Deadly Bite!

Orville(Thoughts)- Arrg! Why can't I open this jar?! It's these talons, they make everything harder. Even if I get it open, I don't know how I'll eat it... Surely I can't chew anymore, how do birds eat anyway?

*Exotic Music and Gasps*

Orville(Thoughts)-Sidghe keeps telling me it will all be worth it in the end, but I'm beginning to wonder... With every passing hour I'm losing more and more of myself. Will there be anything left of me in the end? Or will I just be another Freak in the show. Is taking to the skies again really worth all this?

*Applause*

Sidghe- Still out here training your wings? You've been out here all day Orville. You need to eat.

Orville- Why Can't I do it? How much more of an animal do I have to become?! Aren't things hard enough already as it is!

Sidghe- You are very close dear, but you've still got a few feathers coming in. You won't be changing much further, I can feel my magic calming in you. Remember, I can only change your body, you still have things you must learn on your own. That will take time. I promise you, Flying is in your future. You just have to keep trying.

Orville(Thoughts)- All the struggle has finally paid off! The Sky is mine again! I had almost forgotten what it felt like to have the wind against me, I've never been happier! This new body will take some getting used to with all it's strangeness, but I don't think I'll ever want to go back. A little more training and practice and I'll be ready to start awing crowds and pulling my own weight around here. I've even chosen a stage name for myself.

Orville the Avianationary Extraordinaire! Now that's a title I can get used to!

Orville- SCRAAaaaEEEeee!
