She had never experienced pain so sharp before as the contractions came rapidly and the child she carried for months began to fight for life. Encouraging words from the voice on the other side of the wall would be drowned out by the sounds of her own screams and moaning. She was as a mix of desperation and panic she pushed with all she had. Where were the ones that kept her in this cell? Surely they heard her?
She was getting weaker. She had never wanted something to end sooner more in her life, but finally, finally, the first sign that the ordeal and her soon to be son was ready to make his introduction to the world.
