I'm sorry. A DOG ATE HIS HEART!?!? I said that sort of in jest. And then, it happened? This might be the craziest thing to ever happen in Tree Hill. (And yes, I have to use it for the thumbnail. I'm sorry).

And as much as I have super conflicted feelings about Dan, (Okay that's not really true, I still hate him, but I can see that he's definitely more sincere about things in a way that he never was before) that scene of him in ocean where he's screaming at god, was some of his best work. It was so engaging and I could not look away. He seemed just as conflicted about himself I am.

Even though a dog ate Dan's heart, I think my favorite part of this episode was Haley refusing to apologize. Especially since I didn't expect her to, but then they set it up like she was going to. So I was super vindicated when she refused. Not to mention, it was obvious she was being forced to do this. Those students wouldn't have believed she meant that for a second.

So far, no change in Peyton's pregnancy, but it still seems like the they are going ahead with it. She's scared, but don't seem to be willing to change her mind. Sigh.

Sam gets arrested (sort of) covering when Jack when he steals some hot dogs. Of course, because it's TV, Sam just can't properly explain the situation. And that leads to a huge fight with Brooke where she calls Sam 'unfixable.' Fuck that hurt. But, Sam! Just talk to Brooke! You've been through these types of situations before and once Brooke has all the facts, she's generally willing to help. Which we see is true here as well, because, after she knows all the facts she invites Jack to stay on the couch.

And speaking of Brooke, it looks like she and Julian have broken up. However, I don't think this is the end for them. I really think they are somehow going to end up back together. Honestly, I kind of think he's gonna be who she ends up with at the end of the series. There's something that feels mature, for lack of a better term, about this relationship.

Um, I can't believe I made it all the way down here before I got to the fact that Luke's movie is no more. He and Julian are super upset and sad (and only partially because they aren't getting paid), but the director is just having the time of his life, seeing as he gets paid whether the movie is made or not. But somehow at the end he tells them he shot some footage so they are both getting paid. I don't really get it, but right now, Luke needs $300,000. Healthcare is expensive as fuck in America and this is going to be a complicated pregnancy. Also, as much as I hate the director (yes, I still don't know his name), he did leave really nice parting words: sometimes the beauty is in the attempt. Fuck, that's pretty.

The dog ate the heart moment is an iconic moment not only for the show, but for tv in general. There have been retrospectives written on that insane scene where they interview the writers and cast about it. It is a cultural moment honestly

Yep....the dog eating the heart moment was so iconic it ended up making an episode of E! The Soup and helped propel OTH into pop culture phenomenon. One could argue it was another jumping the shark moment for the show, but only in Tree Hill could something like this work, and work it did, lol!!!

I never thought of this as jumping the shark. I'm always firmly in the 'anything can, and does, happen in Tree Hill.'
