God, I feel like an idiot. Everything was going so well in this episode that I kept predicting something terrible was gonna happen. But it didn't. Until I figured I was wrong and they were just going to give me a heartwarming episode to end on. And then they didn't.

So, everything is going well. We're taking a trip to Utah to go se the premiere of Julian's movie. Haley has been in therapy and she's trying to work through her depression. She's certainly not back to her old self, but she's moving in that direction.

Everyone loves the movie. It gets a standing ovation, and they have immediate buyers for it. They end up selling it for 3 million. Shortly after this, Julian and Brooke take a walk where he proposes (I was sure he was gonna die after this happened). It's really, in my opinion, a lovely proposal. I'm super happy for them.

And to make things even more delightful, Haley finds out she's pregnant. She thinks it's gonna be a girl. I just cannot express to you how much I love this family. And I really love Nathan for trying everything he can think of to help Haley while she's struggling. And when she ties to thank him, he brushes it off. This is just what they do for each other.

Elsewhere, Alex encourages her costar (I just cannot get this guys name into my head) to come out to his parents. I think he's going to. And also, Alex convinces Chase to start dating her. And, as soon as he agrees, Mia texts him and says she wants to get back together. Which makes sense. The only broke up because they never saw each other, and now she's home.

Now, for my shame. I was so sure that nothing bad was going to happen this episode. And then we get this. Clay sends Quinn to bed, and as soon as she walks in the room, she shot by fake Sara (I know her name is Katie, but I like fake Sara better). Clay, who runs in to check are her, is also shot immediately as he enters to room. And then fake Sara just walks away. Ahhhh! Also, at first I didn't realize they were home, so I was like, at least there's a ton of people in this house, someone will be able to call 9-1-1. But then I realized they are home, and they are alone. We didn't actually see Quinn get shot, so she might be in okay shape to get to a phone, but Clay definitely is not. He left a giant bloody stain on that door.

The thumbnail for this was so difficult to choose. But ultimately, I couldn't resist happy Haley.

The great mist of Gaming

They drained the pool after Haley tried to kill herslef at the end and beginning of both lasst episode and this episode because I think they were afraid that she would try again.

Love this episode so much.... it's one of my all-time favorite finales. I love that the cast all got to go to Utah and film in Park City, and the culmination of Haley's story arc, and Naley and NHJ's journey as a family unit throughout the season played out perfectly. S7 as a whole is so highly regarded by me because of how strong the stories and the writing were for Naley this season. We got Nathan's story with Renee for the first part of the season, and we saw how that not only affected Haley and Jamie but Naley as a couple. Then we got the career stories, Nathan's contract, Haley's tour and some fun episodes like the family dinner and the 80's episode in the middle, and then Lydia coming back to town, her cancer storyline and her dying, and then Haley's subsequent depression for the back half, with it all culminating with Nathan by her side every step of the way, going to Utah, and then finding out they are expecting baby #2. Like I said.... such a beautiful payoff for this amazing couple and family. The beginning Naley montage with all the flashbacks featuring all of Naley's significant moments as Haley is remembering her life with Nathan and Jamie as she's underwater, and calling out for help as she remembers their second wedding when the limo crashed and Nathan jumped in the river to save Cooper and Haley was left screaming her head off for help as she watched her husband struggle to come up for air, and now it's a role reversal indeed, with Nathan pulling her to safety as she needs it the most, as "Timshel" by Mumford and Sons plays over it all...was such a poignant tear-jerker moment, and it was all done so lovely. What a beautiful tribute to this amazing couple. Then we get confirmation that Haley is back in therapy and going and she gets to tell her side of things that she was just trying to feel something, as Nathan pulled her out. I thought that was an important component to hear because in the previous episode we heard her tell Lydia's voicemail that she didn't feel anything, she was just numb. And Nathan draining the pool, I thought was a fitting visually captivating moment to remind the audience of the seriousness of the situation and of Haley's state of mind, plus it's such a Nathan thing to do, so Haley won't be tempted to jump in right now. Also loved the Haley/Jamie scene when Haley tells Jamie that they can go to Utah, and she gives him back the gold star and tells him how much she loves him. Such a beautiful mother/son moment. Love that we got to see all the gang playing together in the snow and Nathan and Jamie having fun together, as Haley watched from the window, and when Nathan made eye-contact with Haley...talk about an endearing look of total love and adoration as they locked eyes together....just turn me into a giant puddle of goo as "Light Outside" by Wakey Wakey played over the entire scene. All the musical choices highlighted Haley's story arc so perfectly in this episode. It's really amazing how the perfect lyric and song can propel a scene. Then we got that amazing Naley scene by the fire in the cabin when Nathan was thanking Haley for coming on this trip for Jamie and she in turn thanked him for how's he's been through it all, and he quickly said there's no other way for him to be, that she's saved him so many times, and that he's worried that he's been selfish with her, that he's taken advantage of her strength and her selflessness over the years and that he's broken her somehow. And she quickly reminds him that no he didn't, that she just has a weight in her heart that she didn't have before, but it was lighter today. Some of that moment was also unscripted by the JL's as they changed some of the dialogue to better match the scene, and it played out perfectly. James and Joy were so connected in that scene, that my Naley heart was on the verge of exploding there watching them, hehe, and that song "Don't Wake Up" playing over it...stunning indeed! Also love that we got to see Haley and Jamie shopping together and Jamie picking out his suit, and Haley telling him that his grandma would have loved him in that suit, and we see Jamie tell Haley that she's pretty when she smiles, and that he missed it. Gosh...those two. Great mother/son scene after what they've been through. And Julian and Jamie at the bar were a trip, and Jamie teasing Julian, and then giving him the gold star because he was going to need it, was hilarious, lol. And when we go back inside the theater...if you pay attention to Naley as Alex's voiceover plays over the scene of her saying that "we've all got it, and it's always there" as Naley is holding hands and Nathan is kissing and caressing Haley's hand and arm...another unscripted moment by the JL's. Those words weren't lost on me what they chose for the still shot of Naley. Perfect indeed, as it's such genuine, real, and heartfelt emotion from James and Joy in playing Naley. And I'm glad that Julian sold his movie quickly, lol, and we then saw all the girls in the snow fort, before seeing that cute NHJ scene by it before everybody went sledding and tubing down the mountain, and NHJ having a blast as a family before everyone got back home. Loved the Brulian proposal, and everyone getting a happy ending...well almost a happy ending, lol, as "Carry You Home" play over the scene. And Haley coming out of the bathroom as Nathan is waiting in bed and she tells him that these are happy tears, and he says well "why don't we do smiles for happy instead", and she tells him that she's pregnant, and that she thinks it's going to be a girl, and he's absolutely over the moon as his smile lights up the room, and he pushes her backwards to kiss the life out of her and celebrate the wonderful news, as Haley says to him, "nice work daddy", hehe. Another unscripted JL's moment there as Joy added that part in the scene. They are just so perfect together, as we now have another Naley baby to look forward to....yay!!! And just think Dana, you didn't even believe we were going to get one Naley baby during S4, and now there is another one on the way, lol. And then that cliffhanger at the end...oh my gosh. Loved your jump and scream Dana as you were so not expecting that one, hehe. Psycho Katie is back on the loose and has shot both Quinn and Clay and has left them for dead at the beach house. Who if anybody is going to find them? Stay tuned. There is a lot to look forward to with S8, and the first half is strong in my opinion...so I hope you enjoy what's to come :)
