So, I was sort of annoyed by this episode. It felt too much like a clip show. (Although, to be fair, I didn't really mind reminiscing about long ago Naley). And, I was also annoyed that I was right. I didn't want to be right. I wanted Brooke to have that baby so badly.

Both Haley and Chloe are in the hospital about to give birth. However, Brooke and Julian decide not to tell anyone as they don't want to steal Haley's thunder. Clay and Quinn are there to keep an eye on Jamie while Nathan is in with Haley.

Jamie has decided he wants to make a book about how to navigate life for Lydia and so, we spend a bit of the episode with flashbacks as we talk about things that have happened. Again, this was kind of annoying. Just tell me a story. We don't need to rehash what's already happened.

At one point, Julian is hanging out by the nursery looking at the babies, and there's another guy there doing the same thing. He tells Julian his girlfriend is having a baby and he's not sure if he's ready. Julian gives him some quick advice and that should have been that. But later, we find out that his girlfriend is actually Chloe. And, with him by her side, she decides she wants to keep the baby. Meaning Brooke and Julian go home without one. You know with two births this episode, there was zero chance they were both gonna go as expected.

As Brooke is crying and Julian is trying to comfort her, Nathan comes out and tells them that Haley had the baby. Brooke plays off her tears as being happy for them, but god was my heart breaking for this poor girl. All I want right now is for everything good in the world to find it's way to Brooke.

Um, also, wasn't it just, like, two episodes ago that Quinn was freaking out at the thought of marriage, and now she's ready to have babies?

Oh, this played out for sure like a clip show, but all the Naley flashback stuff was the best part, so I'll excuse it, hehe. Plus, there is only so much they could do in the hospital for an entire hour waiting on Haley to give birth, coupled with the Brulian drama of adopting, so I thought it worked out pretty well. Austin directed it, and I thought his transitions worked well. He did the best he could with it, and man alive the shots of the early days of Naley, merging with present day Naley were outstanding. It's amazing how far they've come as a couple, spouses, and soon to be parents again....it was all just magnified so beautifully here. Love Jamie in this episode as well, how worried he is for his mom, and his sister, and how he just wants everything to be okay, and how he plans to stay the night until Haley delivers the baby. Also love his idea to make a book for Lydia to read one day, and him getting the inside scoop on his mom from all the gang was hilarious, lol. And his voiceovers and running commentary on babies being born were very fitting for his episode. Also love how it all tied in with Naley, and him waiting with them in the beginning. Love that family!!! Then we get the funny sideshow with Clay and the cracker challenge, and you realize how much he's used for the comedic relief during a lot of scenes, lol, but somehow it works, hehe. And of course, you just knew that things weren't going to go well for Brooke and Julian, because them deciding to adopt and then just magically getting a baby 2 episodes later doesn't seem very realistic but keep the faith alive for Brooke's happiness. Remember that this show is a journey....and a long one at that, lol. And as much as I like Brooke and Haley's friendship, that ending scene of Brooke holding Lydia didn't need to be the ending. Naley fans are still pissed about it all these years later, lol, that we were gypped out of a family scene with NHJL in the room in favor of Brooke/Haley. Will never make sense to not include the family scene. But overall...I still always adore the episode for all the Naley references and flashback scenes, and now baby Lydia Scott is here....yay indeed!!! Perfect family of 4 now :)
