UNAGI!! These two episodes were very interesting to say the least. Everyone's comedic timing was impeccable but I particularly loved how insane Ross came across in both these episodes. Enjoy :)

“Ah, salmon skin roll” 😂

Teej

I haven’t seen it yet, but knowing it’s the Unagi episode, I’m already laughing as I remember Ross screaming. 🤣

Brandy

Since this season has 25 episodes, are you planning on watching episodes 23, 24, and 25 together? I promise you do not want to split them up lol. Love your reactions can't wait to watch these!

Samuel

Fun fact, Carl, Joey's "identical twin" actually auditioned for Joey before they found Matt LeBlanc ^^

Matheus Beletti

Tom

I remember series six bumping along nicely until these episodes. It gets soooo much better. Enjoy... Just be careful with those crumbies 😂

First, happy 30th anniversary!!! The pilot premiered today 30 years ago (Sep 22nd)!! 🎉 "Unagi" and "Salmon skin roll" is iconic 😂 Unagi is indeed freshwater eel but the term as Ross means it is actually "Zanshin" which is used in Japanese martial arts. Someone made a video of the scene where Ross talks to the guy at the self defense class without the laughing live audience which makes it even creepier. Here: https://youtu.be/DgKgXehYnnw?si=ml8TXEacrQObOpkg. All jokes aside, if some guy told me he "tried" attacking two women (who are his friends and one of them his ex-wife btw) I would call the police. Women's self-defense training began in the early 1900s in the US and the UK in the form of boxing, wrestling and martial arts (especially jiujitsu and judo). I'm sure there are still self-defense classes all over the world. The sad thing is that, globally, almost 1 in 3 women have experienced physical and/or sexual violence at least once in their life. The saddest thing though is that in the majority of cases it's someone they know, love and trust, like current/former partners or family members. The scene where Rachel says she wants to stay at Joey's took several takes as Lisa kept cracking up. It's one of the funniest bloopers and I would share it but I can't find a video without possible spoilers from other S6 bloopers. Fun fact: Louis Mandylor (Carl) actually auditioned for the part of Joey and the choice was between him and Matt LeBlanc.

Ross is his own biggest roadblock. He just stumbles into situations and digs himself deeper and deeper, self-sabotaging at every turn because he just doesn't know when to quit or just let it go. I'm thinking of his jealousy issues when Rachel started working at Ralph Lauren or his entire relationship with Emily. Even his rage issues at his old museum job. To me, he becomes a much more likable and funny character when those tendencies become much more small scale. I love the unagi storyline because it's simultaneously so light-hearted but also Ross's folly once again getting the better of him. Then of course, he decides to get involved with a 20 year old student (yuck) when he knows it will put his job in jeopardy and is socially controversial. Even when you put those things aside, the wisdom of dating someone just starting young adulthood while he has a kid, three-divorces, and many adult experiences under his belt is extremely questionable (to nonexistent). But Ross is just going to Ross when it comes to romance. On a completely separate note, in the Unagi episode, it's so fun to see Rachel and Phoebe hanging out. With Monica and Chandler together, we get to see them in more storylines together. It's nice that they are living together because it makes Phoebe more stitched into the group. She's kind of always been the odd one out because she's not related to anyone, grew up with anyone, or living with anyone (until now). I know she lived with Monica before but we've only ever seen her in her own apartment located somewhere unknown. So the dynamic is a positive change.

Raquel Perodin

Im so excited for the next few videos especially the finale my favorite of the whole show 😍 Sundays can’t come soon enough.

Shané Kummer

I just got done watching this. I have only seen a few other episodes. But I needed those laught. Thanks, Aussie

Teej

Yeah, the second episode of this with Ross’s storyline is very cringey to watch at least for me. I totally forgot about it until I just watched tonight. I know she’s not a minor, but it’s still inappropriate as he is a teacher and in a position of power and she’s a student. It’s just very weird and uncomfortable. I didn’t like that they went with this storyline at all for him.

fix

I love Rachel & Joey as roomates so much. They are such a great duo. And Ross when he is on his crazy mode, his jokes are unmatchable by anybody. Lol.

Alex

Yes, they are making Joey so dumb it pisses me off. It's ridiculous and not really funny.

Tara

UNAGI - another classic pop culture reference like “PIVOT” 😂😂 I just watched something within the last week where someone put their finger on their temple and said Unagi. I was cracking up. Just like pivot… if you know, you know

Tingeling

Couldn’t agree more. It’s such lazy comedy, and he feels more like a caricature than a character. Even Matt LeBlanc complained about it.

Tingeling

Unagi is such a classic! One of my all-time favourite Ross episodes. I’ve got to say though, I really love Monica and Chandler together, and I can’t help but contrast them with Rachel and Ross. There are several episodes where I think that if it had been R&R it would have led to a huge fight but we don’t really see C&M fighting very often. Even when Janice’s voice came on the tape, Monica was upset but not really angry, and she did agree to set it all aside and celebrate their Valentine’s Day (until Janice began singing). In the second episode she is upset that Chandler is having coffee and dinner with another woman, but she trusts him and doesn’t make a big deal out of it. They just seem to really adore and trust one another, and they seem mostly harmonious together. Total Mondler shipper here.

Fantasy Land

Love these episodes like I have many favourite episodes from the friends series and unagi I was one of them
