These two episodes were hilarious! Monica letting Rachel and Phoebe decide who would be maid of honour was ruthless and it's always great to see two bro's taking their friendship to the next level. Enjoy :)

I'll be watching this when I get back Gerlach.

Liam

I related to chandler more and more every week i do not look good in photos

Valerie Reed

Hey Oscar, don’t know if you saw my last few comments about this but please please please turn on subtitles. Us Hard of Hearing folks want to enjoy your amazing reactions too!

Ali D

So, Oscar hasn’t seen Fatal Attraction 😄

Emilie Fredriksen

25:24 The fact that you and I said the word (hypothetically) at the exact same time😆 And I’m so happy for you that you get to be the best man for your brother 🫶

Big Bob

I am happy for you that your brother asked you, but i am not understanding why this is such a big deal to be a maid of honor/ best man. Maybe this is a german thing, it isn´t such a big deal here. But as i said, i am really happy for you and anyone else who can be :)

TheCocoaCouch

Maybe you guys do it differently?? Here the best man stands closest to the groom when they’re married, they do the best man speech, they organise the Bucks Party AND they’re responsible for making sure the groom is 100% ready to be married on the day. It’s a huge responsibility and it’s kind of a gesture of how much you trust and love that person. How do yall do it? 😆

Noelle

I am confused. I am from Germany too and that is exactly how the Maid of honor / best man works here 😅 I was Maid of honor at the Wedding of my best friend. I organized her Party, helped her get ready on the big Day, stood / sit close to her, hold a little speech, and organized some things with the best men. It was really an honor for me to get asked by her ♡ I am happy for you that you got to be the best man for your brother 😊

Big Bob

yeah it is a little different, it´s more like a gesture here, and of course you have a few plannings to do like the bachelor party and give a speech and stuff like that. And of course it is a huge honor for the groom. But you can get married multiple ways, even without a party at all, so it is more like a status. I was at weddings where the best mans were involved in the ceremonie, but also some where these people weren´t talking since 10pm :D

Big Bob

okay maybe it is just my case, but i really don´t now anything in my family or close to me wanted to do it like that :) i was at like 5 weddings or something close to that. And every time it was just the two persons who are getting married, until later in the evening. But i guess it´s depending on the wedding they wanted

Tom

For Monica, everything has to be perfect. The photo with Joey was better. She wouldn't consider how inappropriate it was.

TheCocoaCouch

Can you imagine that being your spouses explanation 😆 “I don’t want you in OUR photo because it has to be perfect.”

Heather Geer

The maid of honor contest cracks me up every time 😂. Although, I’m surprised Monica didn’t want to have more control of that given her perfectionist mentality lol. Congrats on the Best Man title! You’re going to love sharing that special time with him.

Tom

It wouldn't happen to me. I have to be able to put a glass down without a coaster 😲. The Monicas of this world would never give me a second look... Such a relief 🥳

Heida

I completely agree with your assessment on the situation with Chandler and Monica in E6. It's been established before, specifically in 2x08 where Mr. Heckles dies, that Chandler used to break up with women all the time for the most ridiculous and superficial reasons. The woman was mad that he broke up with her and probably even more so because he didn't give her a reason (as she didn't know it was because he thought she was fat). I do think her coming up to Monica like that was so rude though. My mum is like Chandler when it comes to smiling for photos. The best ones are when she doesn't know about it and it's a genuine smile, not a fake pose one. It IS sad that Monica would rather have Joey because it looked better. Congrats on being your bro's best man! I definitely would've picked Rachel because it meant more to her, plus Phoebe played dirty (that wasn't fair by the guys at all but a great commentary on how easy it is to get some men's attention 🤦🏼‍♀️). Also, Rachel did say she's been FRIENDS with Chandler since he was 25, not that she met him when he was 25. Before that, he was just Monica's "geeky" older brother's college friend to her. Though in the past there have been some inconsistencies with when/how Rachel and Chandler first met. Lastly, Ross and Joey in E6 always cracks me up and the guys watching Die Hard after Bruce Willis was on the show is also hilarious 😂 Fun facts: I used to wonder as well why Monica couldn't just have both of them as maid of honours but then I found out that a maid of honour is different than a bridesmaid and there's usually only one (though of course anyone can change it as is with any tradition). The MOH is kind of the bride's "assistant" and has more responsibilities than the bridesmaids. She plans the bachelorette party/bridal shower and rehearsal dinners along with bridal shopping (wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses) and, on the wedding day itself, helps the bride get ready, holds her bouquet during the ceremony, does the toast and is generally just an emotional support for the bride. When Phoebe leaves the coffeehouse and says "we want the last 6 years back!" Ross turns away from her. This is because in a blooper Lisa cracked up laughing when she saw David's face. The scene where Joey and Ross take their first nap together took ages to film because David and Matt could not stop laughing. It's one of the longest bloopers. "Has she cooked your rabbit yet?" is a reference to the movie Fatal Attraction with Glenn Close and Michael Douglas where her character kills a pet rabbit by leaving it in a pot of boiling water. Ginger is Ginger Rogers who was a well known actress and dancer from the 30s/40s era. She was in a lot of films with Fred Astaire. Courteney was maid of honor for Jennifer when she married Justin Theroux in 2015.

Mikkel Øberg

Bruce Willis is Elizabeths dad, but Die Hard exists.. Should've recognized him! xd

Raquel Perodin

Oh yeah, sometimes I have to rewind because I’m hard of hearing as well I couldn’t hear lol

Alicia Cue

the first time i watched episode 5 with chandler’s smile, i literally cried laughing the first time i saw it, still one of my favorite episodes ever😂😂

Derrick Belone

Congratulations Oscar, on being named Best Man 💯

Alicia Cue

30:27 i love that little money between chandler and monica, that lil dap up they did was just so cute and subtle idk i just love that so much

As an amateur photographer all I can think of with the photo storyline is how different engagement shoots are these days. Aside from the fact that they’re often outdoors and not sitting awkwardly in front of a backdrop, there’s so much more emphasis on natural and varied poses rather than looking straight on to the camera and smiling. This wouldn’t even be a thing today 😂. A good photographer would just take a shot of them looking at each other or kissing or something and that would take care of the awkward smile issue. Ok end of speech 😄

TheCocoaCouch

That’s precisely what I was thinking while editing the episode. Just let them have a conversation and capture them laughing or smiling together 😆

Jim Schmitz

Well, obviously your brother knows what he's doing: he picked the 'best' man for the job. 🤵 Perhaps you can interest him in the traditional prenuptial nap...

Teej

With the maid of honor episode, it reminded me that my dad had that problem when picking a best man. He had (still has) two best friends and one he knew several years longer and the other he actually lived with in an apartment. He ended up choosing the one who was his roommate, but the one he knew longer is my godfather.

saf

37:35 When Chandler and Rachel met is always confusing in the show. Like you said, they actually met when Rachel was in high school and Chandler in college but the show loves to switch between them meeting then or in the pilot episode, basically depending on what works better for that moment.

Heida

Rachel did say she's been FRIENDS with Chandler since he was 25, not that she met him when he was 25. Before that, he was just Monica's "geeky" older brother's college friend to her. But yeah, in the past there have been some inconsistencies with when/how Rachel and Chandler first met.

Tara

I love the first scene of Joey and Ross sleeping on the couch. I watched it over and over a few times during the reaction. The blooper is so funny because David and Matt kept laughing. Here’s a clip of the blooper if you want to see it. In fact, I’d wish you’d react to the season 1-6 bloopers https://youtu.be/uvDmn2e45GU?si=URE-IroJ-uIefbeT

It is more than sad that a person would want to publish a pic with someone other than their fiance over a smile, it is blatantly self-serving. Not a good look for Monica. AND, it is NOT all that crazy that your brother would ask you to be his best man...first, you are his brother...second, you are a great dude....at least from what you let us see of you, and your life, and personality, etc...and the smile, and absolute joy, and pride you showed when saying it to us out here in the Couch world was there for all to see, congrats...and have fun...you deserve all the goodness...oh, don't forget...you have to do the best man speech at the wedding...no pressure, but better start composing now...lots of love at ya!
