This has got to be one the my favourite Christmas films now. I was laughing the whole way through at just how goofy some moments were but it also had a lot of heart which I really adore. Enjoy :)

You should check out krampus. It's a Christmas horror comedy movie

Sarah Marion

Jim Carrey had to go to therapy because he experienced such discomfort from makeup like he was “buried alive” in the grinch makeup

Teej

I LOVE THIS MOVIE SO MUCH!!! I was around the same age as the girl who played Cindy Lou Who when this came out and I’ve always been a Jim Carrey fan. I still get the same joy from watching this movie as an adult, and I appreciate it so much more because it’s so well done.

Edualy

What an unexpected yet wonderful surprise!!! Happy Holidays, Oscar!!

Chelsie Claver

Can't wait to see this one! One of my favorite Christmas films!! Such a solid choice!

Teej

Christine Baranski who plays Martha May Who is from Buffalo, New York, where I was born and raised and currently living.

Shané Kummer

I can't wait to watch this with. All day, I've been watching your Arcne. Nevada has earthquake today. I was going to go to that town, too. Instead I ended up staying home. I felt it. Very interesting.

Lacey Wells

If you can find time, I highly recommend Netflix's Klaus! You'll get comedy and very good message, very heartwarming. Without being super Christmassy.

Teej

Also, a fun little acting tidbit… When the Grinch pulls the tablecloth to manufacture it into something to wear, Jim actually pulled that tablecloth and nothing moved, so he improvised and ran back and knocked everything over and it was kept in the film.

Teej

Yep. He actually almost quit the movie because of the makeup process.

Teej

I mean, with Jim Carrey starring in it, Ron Howard directing it, and Anthony Hopkins narrating it, HOW CAN YOU GO WRONG?! YOU CAN’T!!!

Teej

Honestly, this is the perfect time for me to be watching this. I just got finished yesterday with my night job as a performer for one show, and now I have time to do all of the Christmas-y things and enjoy the holiday before I start again in the new year. So I’m about to get cozy and watch this right now!

Bungus Fungus

Yes, decorate your house, king! 🎄✨️

Teej

I second this! I know not everyone loves it, but it can help brighten the mood.

Teej

I’m so glad he did this movie. I couldn’t see anyone else playing The Grinch as perfectly as he did.

Sarah Marion

Spending Christmas alone?!? Lemme come around

Bungus Fungus

Not sure if you understood the keys in the bowl joke 😶😅

Bungus Fungus

Definitely! Even if you're not in the mood, you will be once you get decorating

Maisie

Oh I'm so excited you watched this one! I loved it as a kid. I used to drive my parents crazy by constantly singing "Where are you Christmas?" even though we didn't observe Christmas. XD

Amy Lillian

I watch this movie multiple times every year since the movie premiered and i LITERALLY just got the swingers joke THIS year. It only took me 24 years 🤦🏼‍♀️

Jarrod Serwa

Not a fan of Jim Currey but he plays the perfect Grinch

MewTwo Medici

Best Improv work by my number 1 actor Jim Carrey! The scene where he perfectly pulls the cloth off the table was NOT planned. The script called for him to pull the cloth so things would fly off. Carrey did one take and nothing fell & then improvised by knocking things off. Legendary actor 🥰😂😎

2024-12-10 06:55:11 The amount of quotes I say in my daily life from this movie… “That’s it I’m not going!” “Dinner with myself! I can’t cancel that again!” “Loathe entirely!” “Help me! I’m feeling!” “I’m gonna throw up, and then I’m gonna die!” 🤣

Christine Baranski (Martha May) is an absolute icon in this movie. Every outfit served on a cosmic level. I would watch a movie about her alone.

Casey McClure

Great film to start off the Christmas season with. I enjoyed laughing along side with you. I think the last time I saw this film was 21 yrs ago so it’s been a minute. I will probably watch National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation next. I hope you enjoy Christmas this year. If you’re able to, host a Christmas party for friends.

hannah

you should watch the newest animated version! i would loveeee to watch it with you here but maybe you think it won’t get enough traction since you’ve done this one which is fine too. definitely watch the newest animated version in your spare time though, it’s so cute! it has a similar storyline, grinch is grumpy and steals christmas but the stories are actually pretty different! loved the reaction :)

Anna H

Absolutely hilarious that the table cloth trick bit was totally incidental!

Daniideee

I am so glad to hear that you are gonna be reacting to most of my favorite christmas movies :) The Grinch, the holiday and Home alone 2. Klaus is a very good movie indeed. Very excited!!! :)

Jim Schmitz

Dr. Seuss never thought of half this stuff. Mr. Carrey deserves the applause, imo.

melissa.xoxo

Thanks Oscar! 😊🎄

Kjrsten Schindler

I love your reactions to this movie!!! I would love it if you reacted to Narnia at some point ❤️🙏

Erin Piper

Christine Baranski is an icon in every movie shes in. I specifically loved her in mamma mia 1 & 2

Thomas B

Oh Oscar you beauty! Just what I needed today thank you ❤️

Thomas B

When you realise Max was dumped on Mt. Crumpit too 😭

Danielle Lewis

This was a fantastic reaction, thank you so much for this, laughed along so much! ❤️❤️ This is one of my favourite Christmas films so I am so glad you enjoyed it!

Michele H.

To be clear… the Grinch doesn’t hate Christmas; he hates the Whoville people

Brian Nix

The idea of it happening all inside a snowflake - unique to this version - is a nod to the "Who"s also being in another popular Dr. Seuss book (and animated movie), "Horton Hears a Who". They are never explicitly the same type of "Whos", but in "Horton" their entire world is a speck of dust on a tiny flower in a field of identical-looking flowers, and only Horton (an elephant with super-hearing) can detect them. The recurring quote from that book is "a person's a person, no matter how small."

Robin

I would recommend the original 1966 animated short film as a follow up to this. It's lovely and comparing it to all the modern versions is fascinating, to see how the story evolved. Plus the short is only 25 minutes long!

Lauren

I absolutely love this film! I'm so glad you're watching it. I've watched it four times already in the last week 😅

Heather Geer

The part that honestly makes me laugh most is when he drives that tiny car, and when it crashes it’s the hugest explosion of all time 😂

Jerry Whitehurst

This is one of my favorite Christmas films - some other good Christmas films is The Santa Clause Trilogy staring Tim Allen from Home Improvement

Penny

I always enjoy your perspective and input, thank you for this reaction!

demon8883

You should really watch the original animation that actually had Dr. Suess involved in production. It’s less of a comedy but still a movie I have to watch every year

Geothro

I think every single kid in the US grows up reading Dr. Suess books. I guess I just assumed they were universal in the English speaking world. P.S. What’s it like having Christmas in Summer?

Brittney Alvarez

I was so happy when the notification for The Grinch popped up. It’s one of my favorite Christmas movies. And yes the older you get the more relatable The Grinch is 😂 Yes please! I can’t wait for you to watch Klaus!! it’s a newer favorite - the animation is beautiful and the story is so heartwarming 😊 Also excited to see a react to The Holiday and - if you somehow haven’t seen Elf already I do hope you react to it at some point 😁

Jenny MacRunnel

I remember seeing this in the theater with my sister when we were in high school...we were laughing so hard I almost peed my pants! This movie still make me laugh, one of my favorite Christmas movies. A fun one I would recommend is Gremlins. Its more of a Christmas/horror flick from the 80s. Its soooo good!

Monica

Cindy Lou Who is the lead singer in one of my favorite bands now 😂 it’s The Pretty Reckless and they are phenomenal in my opinion

Elvira

Hey, have you ever considered watching Skam?:) It's a norwegian drama, and got really popular internationally back in 2015. It was also made different versions of it. Highly recommend it!

Thomas B

Christmas recommendations: A Christmas Carol (Jim Carrey) Arthur Christmas Home alone 1 & 2 Elf Nativity 1,2,&3

Thomas B

Yes! It’s so cute my lord 😭 I think my heart would melt watching Oscar’s reaction ❤️

Elvira

It is!!🥰❤ It's a bit different from what he's been watching so far, but I think he would love it(if I dare say so myself).

Jeanette Dawe

please watch the Christmas movie "Spirted" if you hadn't seen itbefore. I find it don't get a lot of love or attention it deserves lol

Kiara Rodriguez

I’m so excited for you to watch Klaus!

Teej

I have to say, the shot where he’s a kid standing on Mount Crumpit crying and it transitions into him being an adult in the same spot, makes me cry every single time I see it.

Teej

Also it wasn’t until two years ago when I caught the, “What if it’s a cash bar” line. 🤣

Night Skye

Christmas recommendation Scrooge (on Netflix - animated musical of A Christmas Carol - released 2022)

Stephanie

I took a break from Patreon, but I have to come back for all these Christmas movies!

Kelsey Hansler

Love the grinch and loved your reaction and commentary! I recommend watching Arthur’s Christmas, it’s very underrated but also a beautiful wholesome Christmas movie that talks about the true meaning of Christmas as well!

Nola Scott

If you notice when Cindy is talking to Martha the jewels from the gift the grinch gave Martha is in her hair. She kept them.

Samuel

You should react to Horton Hears a Who - also a Dr. Seuss, also starring Jim Carrey, it's animated and a lot of fun :D

Robin

Yes! The original animated short is wonderful. A tradition for me, as well!
