You brought up the video quality Mr. O. Fun fact you can watch Elvis music videos in clear 4K and thats because it's not the cameras that technology needed to catch up on it was the tv/movie screens! There's more to improving the quality of a film but the cameras did a ton of the work back in the filming of Harry Potters day

Oh man...I really love the up next list ya'll got going on! Everything on it is amazing! My niece is 20 and she has been a huge Harry Potter fan since day 1, so I got schooled from her! Lol. Everytime I take the "Which house are you?" quiz...I'm always Gryffindor or Slytherin....I told my niece and she just said "Of course you are!!" So, I guess it fits?! Sooooo glad you guys are getting into these! Yeah, it starts out a bit on the juvenile side, but trust, it gets darker (and more intense) towards the latter half. Really think you guys are going to enjoy; looking forward to you guys falling under its spell (pun intended) 🙂

Definitely would recommend playing or watching Hogwarts Legacy after you finish the series and the Fantastic Beasts trilogy (the game has elements from both). As a HP fan I played it through within a week on a single breath. It is an open world game which is a huge plus because you can roam through all of the Hogwarts and all of its surroundings. And it does have different seasons of the year which adds on to the vibe. I think Mrs. O will have a vise versa reaction of the The Last of Us with it.

Harry's owl is named Hedwig. The creature they choose is like a familiar for the kids and owls do carry messages, etc. for their kid. 🦉

I am so glad I found you through stranger things on YouTube last week - since I've binged your stranger things reactions and all 3 lord of the rings movies and was about to watch the hobbits reactions then seen starting on Harry Potter, excited to watch you react to this series. It gets more mature as the trio get older through the movies as if the audience are growing with them (which I did). hope you both enjoy.

Mrs. O crying for Harry in like the first 15 min of the movie lets me know that this will be one of you guys favorites just like it is for a lot of us ❤️ It’s a huge commitment but I would absolutely recommend reading the book of whatever film you watch before watching the next one. There are a lot of book details that get referenced in the films but the films don’t explain before referencing. They just kinda assume the audience knows certain details. It’s a big lift so maybe just listening to the audiobook. I think it would make the experience more fulfilling but even if you don’t you’ll still love the films!

A few spoiler free notes: - The actors do continue to grow up and mature while filming so just keep that in mind as the series progresses. - Harry’s owl is named Hedwig. They do eventually say it’s name in the films but honestly the films don’t do any justice to that character. Hedwig is a beloved character to the book fans. In the wizarding world the owls main purpose are to be messengers but they also function as pets, but in Harry’s case, hedwig is an even closer companion than the average pet. - what Mr. O said is correct. Harry isn’t famous because of his parents, he’s famous because he’s the “boy who lived”. When Hagrid told harry the story he mentioned that basically if Voldemort wanted you dead then there was no surviving. Yet somehow harry who was only an infant at the time did survive. And not only did he survive but he seemingly defeated Voldemort and either killed him or sent him into hiding. All while he was still in diapers lol. Pretty impressive stuff

The HP story is in 7 books and 8 movies, the last book was split into 2 movies. Each movie represents 1 year at Hogwarts, and since they released each film almost once a year, it took 10 years in total, from 2001 to 2011. But by doing that, the way the kids age in the movies is very natural looking. Now, since you seemed to be interested in Snape, the actor who played him, Alan Rickman RIP, did not want the part after reading the script. But JK Rowling really wanted him for Snape, so she had a meeting with him. She laid out Snape's entire story line, through the books (and that was before half of the books were even written), and that changed his mind. Draco Malfoy is kind of like Joffrey from GOT if you ask me. Highly entitled, but a cowardly bully at heart. What is great about HP, both books and movies, is that it is a series that captures kids' imagination, while introducing them to a very complex story that makes them THINK. I used to be in the children's book business and I see it as very good food for young minds.

Fun fact there are 2 different versions of this movie a UK version and US one was called the philosophers stone and the US is sorcerers stone. The one you watched has some scenes cut out. Like when Harry first meets Snape and he is asking him questions. Harry stands up for himself and tells snape “why don’t you ask heromine since she clearly knows the answer” 😂

There is tons of lore and things in the movie that are important later. You should get a Harry Potter Encyclopedia or a visual dictionary to help you understand the stuff you see. You’ll definitely miss a lot on your first watch.

Snape. is by far the best character in these films. mainly due to Alan Rickman the amazing actor who played him.

Towards the beginning of the movie, when draco malfoy introduces himself and ron laughs and draco says "You think my name is funny?Do you?"... it really is because his parents named him that knowing that draco translates to serpent and their last name, malfoy translates to bad faith. It's like a billboard for anyone to see that just says don't trust me. Lol

Put your fears to rest, Mr. October. The CGI actually gets better as the movies go on, and you can see that they took their time making them look 👌🏼, and the movies themselves get better too. They do a wonderful job of progressing the story as the actors and characters grow older.

Great reaction guys! In regards to when you mentioned about the architecture of Diagon Alley. It's similar looking to The Shambles in York, UK. It was said that J.K Rowling got her inspiration from it, but I think it's since been debunked - it does share similarities though.

Idk y but I have alot of resistance to watch all of these. I know for sure I've watched the first 2 and I've seen bits and pieces of the others but never sat and watched the full thing. I watched a couple of the fantastic beasts movies too. If you ever go to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, it's a blast. They have the Harry Potter section there and it's so immersive. And they have a frigging Dragon on top of a building that breathes fire!

Does anyone know if the teacher who was teaching them the Leviosa spell is the person who does the voice for Ser Didamus (sorry if that's spelled weird) from The Labyrinth? I'm one hour in and I gotta say nice reaction, but I can't help noticing your girlfriend has the "coolness syndrome" in this episode. I notice this quite a lot these days with people online and it bothers me, so I had to say it. Pls don't take this personal it's just something i noticed during this particular film that made me not enjoy the reaction as much. Otherwise, great content.

I deleted my other comment because you answered my question later in the reaction lol.. but yes, I love the HP game. I have 300+ hours on it. It's definitely worth checking out a playthrough if Mrs O isn't planning on playing it.
