I asked you guys to rank the five active 40K primarch in gameplay, lore and looks!

Comments

Orkimedes

I can definitely see why rowboat is held so highly with him been the only loyal primarchs the lore and the imperium itself has really kinda revolved around him. But nothing has me more excited than the long awaited return of the Lion.

Craig Drummond

All about the looks personally 1 - angron 2 - morty 3 - lion 4 - Magnus 5 - Guilliman

Chad Stewart

Theyre all traitors. Imperium Secondus... pff. Ferrus never would have stood for such blatant heresy.

1: fulgrim 2-18: couldnt care less big ec fan

Gameplay? Been out of the loop. Honestly not sure. Lore? 1. Magnus. I love his story for its hubris and its failings. While I think Angron is more genuinely tragic, his tragedy happened so long before any of the other major players in the story could impact it that it's a bit less interesting in the long run. 2. To my considerable shock, the Lion. I used to find him dull as dishwater, but the implications of that latest quote, the idea that he might have learned some dutiful humility has me wanting to read more. Plus... how the HELL does GW reconcile his return with the fact that the post-Heresy flavor of the Dark Angels is built upon decisions made after he disappeared? 3. Angron. Just a sad story all around. Granted, these days he's just Killy McSmashface, but I find it fairly moving how pathetic his story really is when you go back far enough. 4. Mortarion. The guy's kind of a hilarious hypocritical joke, and I love how he got there. He made his choices and they were all wrong! 5. Rowboat. Look. Blame Matt Ward if you like, and I'll be the first to admit the recent lore has done a lot to make him more interesting, but... nah, son. The most interesting thing about him is his disgust with what the Imperium has become. Looks? 1. The Lion. Holy crud, that new sculpt is sweet. 2. Mortarion. That thing looks like an angel of plague. I love it. 3. Magnus. Growing pains of being the first Primarch to get a non-Forge World model aside, he does look cool, doesn't he? 4. Angron. I honestly prefer a lot of sculpts to Angron's, but... he's not bad. I just think he looks more like a Bloodthirster on steroids than a distinctive character. 5. Robby Guiltyman. I don't like the Ultramarines. I REALLY don't like the look of their Primarch. Some of it's just the pose, being honest!

Really hope my psychic bois get a bit of a glow up rules wise this edition

Looks, it's all the Lion. I didn't expect to care about him at all, but damn. GW pulled out all the stops there, that model is outstanding. I feel I have to start a Dark Angels army simply because I want that model so bad.

Frogmalion

I just don't like the demon Angron. Be'lakor is the benchmark for demon sculpts right now and Angron falls short. It's a shame because it could be a decade if/when there's a resculpt. The few World Eaters details don't go far enough to make him pop.

Nikodem Chamielec

I absolutely love "Every model is alpharius model"!

Henry Eshleman

About two comments up, I call him a "bloodthirster on steroids." And while there's a place for that, it kind of lacks the grandeur you'd want for someone like Angron.

Jacob Page

It’s laughable how quickly I knew I was collecting dark angels when I saw the lion model
