Starlight should've known better than to panic when their vehicle had suddenly crashed. Her mind now racing as fast as they been down the freeway mere moments before, as she leapt from thei car without a second thought. Had the former hero hesitated and pondered her best action just a little bit more, she would've have realized just how much of a mistake it was for her not to look around prior to trying to exert pressure on the team that had come to claim her. A hidden super figure she had heard from Kimiko was at a facility they had. . . accidentally. . . Caused to collapse before. Their palm outstretched towards Annie before she could even protest.
Had Starlight not been so conceited despite the loss of her powers that she was just now starting to regain, and not tried to crush the competition in Vought with her exerted pressure despite being weakened she may have been allowed to have her day. Alas the thin-skinned supe wasn't given that respite. Her form quickly subjected to what real political and super-powered force was as she went from a figure with figurative paper skin to what appeared to be quite literal one. Her form quickly compressed into a ball, before being crumpled and creased further. Her features and expressions contortions as she tried to fight back and process the reality being exerted on her. Her series of "Grrmngs?!" And "Mmrrpphs?!" falling on empty ears til she was finally left floating in her reduced state in the palm of Vought's hands literally by any who held her from now on. . .
When the results of the mission were passed off to Homelander he couldn't help but let out a quiet, snide, and slightly sinister chortle. . . Rather than the shape of a famous star, maybe he should rename the pathetic object Ball-light?. . . But then another thought crossed his mind. He smiled remembering a certain game as lined his sight across the room.
"I told you compared to me you couldn't handle the world on your shoulders Ball-Light. You should have folded and surrendered before you got folded like the tissue paper you are. . . But alas it seems you truly were garbage in comparison to me and the others. . . But don't worry. . ." He scoffed as he tossed the his former competitor and compatriot across the room. The crinkled blonde landing in the trash without touchibg the edges of the bin. "That's just what you want from a paper basketball. . . For It to be inconsequential. . ."
