At last! Labyrinth! We thought you weren't gonna do it!

I knew this had to come up! It has the most powerful message for viewers in Henson history . . . "You have no power over me." Everything about this movie is as incredibly complex and bizarre as the mind of a teenage young woman. I would know!

Oh yes! So sorry I doubted you doing this Rob. This is my favorite non-Muppet production of Henson's. Of course I don't know if saying that is entirely accurate because I put the Muppets in general over Labyrinth, not a particular movie. I also love Jareth as a villain. I mean, the dude has a lot of power clearly, and is a serious threat, but simply confronting him, renders him a meek begging figure. It really plays into the whole thing of nothing in the labyrinth being what it seems. Or as the movie puts it, "Don't take things for granted" And yeah, the door scene bothers me too. Mostly because I love that bit. You know, the one liar and one truth teller. Also, never noticed the set dressing before somehow. Good catch Rob. Finally, I've had a few people tell me that this movie is based on the board game of the same name. Really don't see how they got there. I mean, the word labyrinth isn't exactly unique

An all time favourite of mine, and I don't even like puppets that much! It was like a fun musical D&D session, especially how she builds up her "party". That said, even as a kid... I found Bowie's crotch... disturbing. :0 :D Oh and I absolutely LOVE the Fireys! And I do wish the whole movie had some toyline. There are so many amazing designs I could imagine as toys.

i always skip that door scene. btw Jareth was supposed to have the hots for Sarah. Jennifer Connelly was 16 when this was made. apparently in Britain, that's the legal age of consent

You can totally hear the dice rolling in the background and with every try by Ludo the cheering at the obvious natural 20 that's achieved!

It says at the start that he was in love with her. In the manga it goes on to state that he wanted to be with her and that this relationship would've freed him from being the Goblin King, but then Toby would've had to have taken his place and been raised by them. It's actually an interesting follow-up!

I know i was like you have to do this movie, no hensenverse month is complete without labyrinth plus it was the last movie jim hensen directed before his death. He did do work on the first and second tmnt esrly 1990’s movies but he was not director of either movie

I highly recommend reading the manga it is so good so worth it. Wikipedia said a sequel was in the works although it would be hard to do a sequel since david bowie died of cancer back in 2016

Melissa Joy Miller

Sorry for correcting you Bobsheaux but Toby is her half brother not step brother

I must say one of my favorite parts of the movie was the dance scene with jareth and sarah and the ending with jareth literally wanting her to stay with him. Gosh i wish there was a sequel (an actual sequel not just the manga)

Also i forgot to mention Bobsheaux you should review sometime mirrormask it was made by jim hensen company
