But I didn't speak in tongues during worship service, so I never fully embraced the culture... and I didn't dance at all my whole young adult life (well, except square dancing once or twice at camp) until I started going to indie rock and metal shows in Seattle around age 19-20. 

I danced on stage for my roommate's band, and I had to be drunk to do it. It was more like slutty gogo-dancing, but I was moving my body and expressing myself. 

To this day, this style is the only way I know how to dance. I have had some friends or boyfriends try to waltz with me, and I step on their feet and can't follow their lead... my rhythm is aweful. My body wants to sing to my own chorus!
