Kokoro stood by the window, her blue dress catching the moonlight like a ripple on water. The city hummed faintly below, but the room was quiet, save for the soft rustle of fabric as she turned to face him. “You’re staring again,” she said, her voice light but teasing. “Do I owe you money, or are you just that bad at hiding it?”
He leaned against the bedpost, a grin tugging at his lips. “Can’t help it,” he said, his tone easy but sincere. “You’re kind of hard to look away from.”
Kokoro raised an eyebrow, though her smile betrayed her. “Kind of?” she repeated, stepping closer. “I’ll have to try harder, then.”
He laughed, the sound warm and low. “Don’t. You’re already dangerous enough as it is.”
She stopped just within arm’s reach, her golden eyes glinting with mischief. “Dangerous, huh? I like the sound of that.” Her fingers brushed against his hand, the touch light but deliberate. “But you’re not exactly harmless yourself.”
His breath hitched, and for a moment, the room felt smaller. “Maybe,” he said, his voice dropping. “But I’m not the one in a dress that looks like it was made for moonlight.”
Kokoro’s laugh was soft, almost a sigh. “Ah… you’re good at this,” she admitted, her voice tinged with amusement. “Too good.”
He reached for her hand, his fingers intertwining with hers. “Only with you,” he said, his tone steady but filled with something deeper. “And only because you make it easy.”
The air between them shifted, the playful banter giving way to something quieter, more intimate. Kokoro’s smile softened as she stepped closer, her free hand resting lightly on his chest. “Ngh… you’re lucky I like you,” she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.
He leaned in, his lips brushing against hers in a kiss that was as tender as it was electric. Kokoro’s breath caught, her usual confidence melting into something warmer, more vulnerable. “Ahh… you’re trouble,” she whispered against his lips, though she didn’t pull away.
“Maybe,” he replied, his voice low and steady. “But I’m your trouble.”
