If you are talking about the games, then I would definitely recommend HeartGold or SoulSilver. They are still the best games ever made by them. These titles are remakes of Gold and Silver, which were already great. While there’s nothing wrong with starting with the latest editions, you might feel overwhelmed by the hundreds of Pokémon to catch. Alternatively, you could begin with the original Red and Blue/Green versions; however, playing the remakes might offer a better experience. Overall, while playing through the main story can feel a bit boring compared to many games nowadays, the competitive nature of Pokémon is still fantastic, and there is always a lot to discover. Honestly, many kids from the '90s, including myself, often play it out of nostalgia, but I tried out competative and ranked battles and it was really a lot of fun!
