If she’s pregnant, I’m super curious about what their children will look like. I have no idea what a fennec-cobra hybrid would look like, but given Zummeng’s record of awesome hybrid designs (see Tristan and Nigel from The Tree of Life) I bet they’ll look as beautiful as their parents.

Shen is being supportive, yes, but he's also gently calling Zaphira out. Things are changing very fast, and because her world has changed, so has theirs. The servants probably didn't have to diminish the one piece of jewelry that means something to her, though. But then, they probably didn't know that very well.
