What's so funny is the actress who plays Eugene is Film, who now is part of the GL pairing namtanfilm. Their show is Pluto where she plays May, a lawyer who falls for her girlfriend's twin sister. An interesting language thing is that White keeps calling Eugene "Ter" which is a very close form of you which is usually only used by men in romantic contexts (between women it can be just friendly).

As a queer trans person I have to say, that Not Me is my absolute favorite Thai drama, because it’s one of the first dramas from Thailand to openly address massive issues in society (which is one of the reasons it got less media presence from GMMTV) and show that is is okay to be angry about them. It’s okay to fight for your own rights and not be pressured into acceptance. This show does a great job representing all social minorities and not just for the quota but to actually make a point.

i was never as bothered by the [pretty terrible] planning that this group does, because it's established early on that they're quite inexperienced and also reckless. so a lot of critique for the show has people saying, "omg these guys are sooo stupid" which i don't feel is the case at all. additionally, i think a lot of people watched this and thought that depiction = endorsement? the show makes a point to say that the gang is earnest but things that they do, uh, flop, because they're so young and their plans aren't well-thought-out (and we address this!). anyways, it's a difficult job to radicalize the average gmmtv-watcher, so i will always, always give them credit for trying what no one else did. shoutout to my favourite girl nuch! she's named after the director! <3
