for your question to who is the most popular member it has always been yoo jaesuk in the past and even now. just some information jaesuk is very well known MC and comedian in korean he is named undefeatable to any celebrity in korea. named as God Yu and the nations MC for decades he is the most loved MC of the generation since early 1990s till even now. Its to the point that for the past 2 decades jaesuk has never once lost his spot as the most influential celebrity in korea every year always beating out celebrities like exo bts iu and even movie stars aswell. he is known to have made records for getting the highest daesang awards for mutiple decades and at different broadcasting stations. he is highly respected and practically always the leader or captain of whatever show he is in. bts was actually on his show when they were at their peak and you can even see them feeling grateful that they got called on his show and were all star struck

Yoo jaesuk is most indefinitely the most popular member, also he's been named the most loved korean celebrity since 2010s or earlier, he's won the most grand prizes (Daesang award) than any other mc/comedian too. He's nicknamed God Yoo because any show he's on gets high ratings, and especially because he's known for being good natured and taking good care of everyone around him. When celebrities get asked who is their fav celebrity or comedian and they answer w Yoo Jae Suk, they are called boring because its such a obvious answer, its same as saying BTS is my fav kpop group haha. (cos both bts n yjs are like top favs of everybody). In fact, Yoo Jae Suk still surpasses popular celebrities like BTS, blackpink, park bogum or IU in polls for most loved celebrities (due to their kindness n good deeds too), his rank has been no. 1 prob for a good decade or so. Personally, I watch variety shows mostly with Yoo Jae Suk because I know its gonna be good, I've been watching him since his 'Family outing' days.

I'm surprised that you know a little about Korea and variety but you didn't know about Yoo Jae Suk's popularity. Back then and now, Yoo Jae Suk is the most popular celebrity in Korea, he is the center of every show that he has and he is at another level winning popularity surveys/ranks over celebrities like G Dragon, IU, BTS, Blackpink or any popular actor that you can think of, his nickname is God. The celebrities like him so much, Jennie literally said that she made 2 variety shows only because she feels comfortable with Jae Suk there too. Suga and Jimin went to Pinggyego (Jae Suk's show) only because Jae Suk asked them. His power it's insane and there are many other examples. And just so you know, not many variety shows are doing what Running Man it's doing, that's why it's the most populat show internationally. The comment that you mentioned about live vocals it's true, that's why as an old kpop fan, it's hard to get into groups from the present, the backtrack it's so loud. I mean yes, dancing and singing it's hard but you should do it only if you can, if you are barely singing it or half of it, at least give us some dance moves that you can say "wow" but not really. Just leave the dance to the dancers. Also, you should stop worry about their safety, RM's staff it's always with them, they wouldn't do it if it was that dangerous.

One good episode it's 305, there it's a battle between Running Man and a group of comedians, it's fun to see RM working as a team. Episode 147 it's another good one, the guest is Kim So Hyun, the male lead from Queen of tears and It's okay to not be okay, the games are hard.
