SURPRISEEEEEEE!!

I had been asked to do this several times and I'm glad I finally did it. It's been toooo long since I've done DC.

Their harmonies and vocal layering is soo damn rich man and even if i don't LOVE the songs, I still am interesred. I kinda wish it was a full group album because the solo songs weren't as strong for me but I still enjoyed myself overall.

I'm now wondering if I missed any other albums. I was also surprised that the album tracks weren't very rock heavy at all which shocked me.

I'm sooooo excited to check this out OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH!! And yeah they usually don't have a lot of rock-y b-sides, I'm just reading your comments before watching LOL, they usually have shorter albums 5-6 songs and usually the title track and maybe one other song would be rock heavy but the rest of the songs they always try different things, sometimes a ballad sometimes EDM, It's kinda what makes it fun, everytime I see a new dreamcatcher album I don't know what to expect sound wise but I know I'm gonna get beautiful vocals and good production usually!

im so happy u checked this out!! you should react to their other full length album "dystopia: tree of language". it's been my favorite kpop album since it came out. you've already checked out scream, red sun, and black or white on youtube a few years ago but the rest of the album is great. the album includes two special songs full moon and over the sky which were songs released for their first and second anniversary, finally added to an album. also included is siyeon's solo song, paradise. also jazz bar has a new version released on their christmas mini album just last month that sounds a lot jazzier (and also includes handong who wasn't a part of this album since she was in china). sahara has a really fun self-made music video. i can talk abt this album forever, i bought all four versions of the album when it came out (which i havent done for any other album, i dont own many others in general tho lol)

I would say is the mini album before Justice. Which is OOTD and the album name is VillianS. I put the VS in caps for a reason, it match VirtuouS. They play off each other, VillianS is Bad Guy and Virtuous is good guy. OOTD was liked by a lot of people who don’t like their rockish songs. but the people who normally like their rock heavy we’re not the biggest fans but I love it and I think it just gives a different feel to them. OOTD is also kind of based around the negativity that can get in people always chasing the Crown and doing things that aren’t considered nice I guess. So it’s different for them for sure.

I thought you would like Locked inside a door! That's probably one of my favorites, I love how much it showcases Handong's tone! I definitely agree the solos weren't as strong as the full group songs, we haven't gotten I hope whenever the next full album comes out we get more and hopefully if they give us special clips they could have a bigger budget now and maybe do something more unique/creative with them! Also from the recent-ish albums that you've missed, There's VillianS which I don't think you reacted to the title track OOTD, this one was right before the most recent album with Justice. There's the album with Vision on it Apocalypse:Follow us, you've heard Vision and Some Love from that album. And this one's an older one but the BEcause album "Summer Holiday" is the last one you missed from when you started getting into dreamcatcher more! Sorry for the long comment I just love this group and album so yeah LOL thank you again for checking it out you're the best!!!

The members wrote their own solo songs and so pen strength varies. I would say that JiU and Siyeon have the strongest pens generally. Dami writes but doesn't often share anything. JiU's MV was the way it was bc the song is about her dog Cherry, who was featured in the MV. If JiU writes a song, such as Dear and Alldaylong, it's gonna be sweet and upbeat or at least emotional. Most of the members aren't terribly interested in solo songs and only SuA, Siyeon, and Handong have more than one official solo. Honestly, I tend to prefer any solo covers the members do to their actual solo songs. SuA's Standing Next To You cover got my mom to listen to K-Pop! This album is a bit special because they got their 1st & 2nd wins with Maison and were legitimized in the industry. Dreamcatcher has gotten so many more opportunities, from brand deals to OSTs to awards & award show performances. It's just invisible to people who aren't looking out for them. I'm really proud of the growth and risks taken in the VersuS albums, VillainS and VirtuouS, and hope they continue to grow as artists. I don't know for sure but I'm convinced that Apocalypse: Save Us, warts and all, is what kept Dreamcatcher afloat and here today.
