This Week's Summary:
- Completed . . .all CGs
- Finished beta tester corrections
- Sent out new beta version
- Completed the Kickstarter walkthrough
- Worked on Content "warning"/guide
- Revamped (slightly) the Glossary index
- Started adding in the new glossary entries
The Ramble:
So since last week I have finished the remaining Magnus CGs - meaning all CGs are now complete.Of course, this doesn't mean I won't still go back and tweak things because we all know that is just how I am sometimes. But they are officially finished, anyway.
I went through and finished implementing the beta tester suggested corrections and sent out a new beta version of the game. This took a couple of days because I had several routes to go through and it was incredibly tedious but it is also done now.
I finished the backer walkthrough - which was mostly just waiting on the CGs to be done. But now that's ready to go out as soon as the game goes out.
I also have spent some time working on the content guide - this is just a massive undertaking as the guide is really detailed (and very spoiler heavy). I still have to complete the guide for several routes - Right now I have Ari, Caleb, and Caissa (more or less) complete. I have some of the major things for Lance, Jack, and Magnus written out but need to add more details. That will eventually be done and links will go up at the same time as the full game goes out. Mostly because it is really spoiler heavy.
I did a slight revamp of the glossary screen. I was going to have everything - index, article list, and article on the same page but ultimately decided to keep the articles on separate pages so I can continue to link from in the game. And just keep the glossary page from looking too cramped.
And the last thing I've been working on the past few days is. . .writing glossary articles. Less than half the articles in my list are actually in the demo so I have a lot of glossary articles to write up. Then I have to cross link all the glossary articles. And then I have to go through the whole game and add a hotlink to the first mention of a particular topic within a particular route. So I'll probably be working on the glossary for at least another week? It's not a big a job as something like CGs but it's still a decent chunk of work to get the glossary up and functioning. And that is my focus at the moment.
Sneak Peeks and Previews:
I don't really have any sneak peeks this week since I haven't been working on things that are particularly visual. . .
This is the new glossary index. I have each list as a three column scroll box instead of columns instead of having it broken into pages. I'm not totally sure I like this. I'm mostly annoyed you can't really centre the columns within the viewport. Or at least I can't make it centred. But I'll keep playing with it. And I do like having a vertical scroll more than having pages.
Upcoming Week:
I'll continue to work on the glossary until it's done and I think I'll also be focusing on getting the content guide complete.
After that, SFX and maybe some small, polishing art touches.
At this point I have to resort to To Do lists to keep track of all the little things that need to be done. So I'm just trying to get the big things marked off the list so all I have are the little polishing things left.
