Retrobot Diner (Patreon)

After a hard fought battle Mirage and Blue Pixie decided to stop at a small diner for food. The diner was pleasantly modeled off of a 1950s diner complete with jukebox and oldies rock playing from the speakers. They sat down and ordered their meals and chatted as they ate. So enraptured in their conversation were they that they failed to notice the change in color of their skin, how the growing feeling of stiffness was not simply post-fight soreness. Instead they were completely caught off guard as their skin hardened into shiny chrome, leaving them helplessly frozen like statues.
A moment later they were approached by the waitress who smiled, seeing the two frozen heroines. “You two will do perfectly. Now get up and start taking orders.”
Like a bolt of lightning the order hit them, neither was able to resist the impulse to obey the command as they stood up and began to move on roller-skate clad feet. The other people inside the restaurant paid no heed to the newly transformed robots, nor did they question why they were suddenly being served by robots. They simply smiled and ordered their meal and were happy as the robots rolled up to the table with freshly cooked food.
Inside their bodies neither Mirage or Blue Pixie could stop themselves. It was as if their bodies were on autopilot and no longer their own. As little more than helpless passengers they continued to serve new customers and clean the tables until late at night they were ordered to return to the back and step into a recharging pod. The two heroines stared forward outside of the pod, unable to move or look away from the frozen robotic form of the other, realizing that unless someone recognized them and got help they would be trapped this way forever. . .
