it's babie virgil! pardon him, he's a little nervous around new people. he's maybe two seconds away from hiding his face in mommy's neck.

hyena cubs are born with soft dark coats that take a while to develop their trademark brown coloration and spots. Much like Sunny, Virgil was the only cub to result from his mother's pregnancy (hyenas usually turn out a litter of 2-3 cubs). Sheena was lowkey grateful for that, since Virgil's dad slipped away one night and never came back. Sheena is grateful for that as well, since it meant she had to take care of just one baby, instead of an infant and a manchild. She spoiled Virgil as much as possible, taking him on library trips and picnics in the park, and reading to him every night.
