Been working away at Disney - Bigger Than You Know. We were all talking about it here yesterday so I thought I'd give a little update and say it's definitely happening and will almost certainly be released this Wednesday. The recent acquisition is sort of forcing a different structure than I typically stick to but I think it's turning out pretty good. I talk a lot about what's happening right now as well as their history of major acquisitions over the past 25 years.

I'll probably have it completed well before Wednesday so I can post it for early access whenever it's ready. I attached some potential thumbnails I'm considering using too, what does everyone think?

Looks great!

Definitely simpler than most of your other thumbnails, way more dead space than usual.

It’s crazy to think about how Disney could possibly be bigger than you know, considering how big everyone knows it is. For the thumbnail maybe I’d put Disney’s logo above the bigger than you know text? It does look a bit empty

I had it exactly like that Mike but the logo is so oddly shaped I couldn't position it in a way that looked good. Then I figured Mickey was enough to convey the fact the video's about Disney so I got rid of the logo all together. But if it looks too empty with out it, it try to work it back in somehow.

Okay to use an image of Mickey? Fair use? Big brother is watching.

This particular image is available through about a million clipart sites which is basically a free pass to use it, thumbnails generally don't get too much scrutiny anyway. Actual Disney produced images get used in videos and thumbnails all the time without any issue as far as I know.

Even without the logo making "bigger than you know" take up more space would be good I think. If you wind up going with that I am working on an edit of the Mickey image where he is looking sideways rather than upward.

Obviously with Disney there's a copyright risk but I like to think I'm within fair use guidelines. I think it comes down to the fact that they'll either want to target the video or not, and it's probably not worth it to be extremely cautious because the video starts to suffer at a point.

side eyes <a href="https://imgur.com/a/fuu6daz" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://imgur.com/a/fuu6daz</a>

The side eyes are pretty good. I attached 2 more options to the post. One using your suggestion and one completely different. That do you think?

How about... Mickey with "Bigger than you know" arched over him and Tinkerbell's sparkles shimmering over that? Don't use Tinkerbell as it would become a jumble.

Version 5 I think is the best so far, love the layering. I tried to work that old VHS era castle logo into something, but none of my mockups looked like they meshed well with the rest of your videos in my opinion.

I took your advice and tried to make something like that. Wasn't really feeling the arch thing and my attempts at adding Tinkerbell sprinkles were downright embarassing haha. I have 3 solid options now, I'm going to put them to a vote and see what happens.

companyman

I think I agree. I'm going to replace him with side eyes mickey and put it to a vote.
