v0.3 Changes:
Reworked target breaking physics.
The biggest change is to the main design: before now when a target is broke, the pieces will arc slightly upward, giving you a better chance to dodge them. I didn't know how to do it without messing up the physics at first (basically they wouldn't go all the way back up when bouncing), but I figured out a workaround. You can pause the game now!
Yeah I put it off thinking it would be really hard to implement; turns out Godot makes it SUPER easy. The pause menu has some new options, but some aren't implemented (the sound sliders don't do anything yet). You can restart the level and quit, plus there's some cheat--er, accessibility options: you can turn on invincibility, and you can set the prices at the shop at half of, or make them free! The "Debug Text" cheat doesn't do anything (you can still see the text by pressing Tab)New cutscenes and animation!
Level 5 has a new cutscene and the donut shop scene (levels 5 to 10) have a new Rebbecca eating and fattening animation. Plus the targets are donut pieces, not chips. Level 1's cutscene and animations, plus some winning cutscenes. also have also been reworked and some new sounds added.Linux and HTML5 versions!
You can play it in-browser now! Well, not the attached version, but on itch.io. If you wanna try the browser version out (it isn't public yet) send a note and I'll send a code.
Known Issues:
I'm also aware of a particular bug that breaks the game some testers have encountered, where the player character doesn't show up when starting the second level. I have only managed to encounter this bug one time personally, and I cannot figure out how and why it happens. I'll do what I can to fix it, but I don't know how long it could take.
Level 3 and 8's winning cutscenes still aren't finished.
Some other things are still generally unpolished.
Plans for future updates:
Other animations, such as Rebbecca drinking, rubbing her belly and feeling sick are all yet to be made. Some effects animations are partially drawn and intend to be implemented. I also intend to update the look of the menus so that it's not just the generic colored boxes that come built in with the software.
Mac OS and Android versions will come out as soon as I figure out how to get them to work. A mobile version is planned but I probably won't include touch controls until I finish the completed demo.
More sounds and, hopefully, music.
