Greg and Jordan from Brigham Young Money pull the lads together as they dance through the shifting tones and heavy fog of the 1989 Mormon musical extravaganza: Saturday’s Warrior. Topics include the similarities between Evangelicalism and Mormonism, the loose morals of San Diego, and the baffling surreality of watching a musical featuring greaser eco-terrorists and thirty clones of Donny Osmond.

It's interesting hearing what the term seminary applies to in Mormonism and Catholicism. What y'all called seminary was just referred to as Bible study or like special Bible classes in my church. Granted I went to public school and only heard about it in church groups. Seminary was always portrayed to me like a kind of Christian graduate or post grad school; it was where you went to learn how to be a pastor or a church leader. Whether that's true or not, it was always the place referenced when I asked those same "wait how does that make sense" or "I don't recall seeing the part where Jesus said speaking to a woman qualifies as a date, also wouldn't that mean he dated that prostitute at the well?" kinds of questions. Even now I still find people deflecting critical analysis with statements like "oh we tackle things like that in seminary" instead of actually responding to the question

Skin of our teeth reference flashing me back to high school when our director made the people playing the dinosaur and the mammoth change roles so the mammoth was a girl because there's a line where they reference milking the mammoth.................

Hahahahaha I don't remember Saturday's Warriors but I loved The Buttercream Gang 🤣 Also Simpsons, MTV, Beavis & Butthead, South Park - all banned in my household too. I think MTV might still be blocked on my parents TV lol
