Awesome review Mat! A Goofy Movie is one of my favorite Disney movies from the 90s next to Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King. The animation is excellent, the characters were very entertaining and enjoyable, the story is heart warming and relatable, and the songs were absolute bangers. The movie is definitely a nostalgia trip for me and everyone growing up. Also, thanks for giving me a shoutout in the credits, I’m very surprised and happy to see my name featured. ^^

I really like this movie a lot. I would honestly say this is quite possible one of the biggest projects that Goofy has been in and the one that really did help boost his popularity. I really like the relationship between both Goofy and Max in the movie, and how we see their bond grow stronger as the movie progresses, and I also really like Pete in this movie and one of the many times he is able to someone other than a villain. And the songs are really fun to listen to, Stand Out is easily my favorite song in the movie and the one that really does define this film. Overall, A Goofy Movie is a very fun and enjoyable film that can have a lot of heartwarming moments and is a great family film, and this film definitely deserves its cult following it has gained over the years.

Glad you review this movie since this film was one of my biggest childhood movies that I watch a lot during my childhood. Despite being born in 1999 as the 90s decade was about to end, I seen this movie a lot as it was on DVD during the 2000s decade and I still can’t help but loving this film. Sure, it was ahead of it time as this was one of the perfect example of what a 90s film look like, it still had a good plot line, solid characters, nice animation, memorable songs, and a heartfelt bonding moment between Goofy and Max. Definitely one of those childhood movies that I will never forget. By the way, I did saw Goof Troop on Disney+ and I thought it was okay but wasn’t all that memorable compared to the movie although it definitely another example of how a 90s animated shows looked like at it time. I’m even surprised that despite the movie taking place after the show, never there was once mentioned to Pete’s wife and daughter, Peg and Pistol. I’m sure there some reasons of to why they didn’t include them in the movie, but it would’ve nice if the movie included them to let Goof Troop fans that they were okay or something. Hope you do the Extremely Goofy Movie next in the future because that one I believe it one of the better Disney direct to video sequels out there that worth checking it out.

Even though the movie didn’t “Stand Out,” at the box office. It still holds up as a good movie after all this time. (Sorry for the bad pun). Anyways I will check out what Tezuka movie it will be.

Thanks AniMat for reminding me of the fears I used to have for growing up because of that opening nightmare. You had to bring it up. But other than that, I definitely enjoy the songs from Powerline, I even added them to my iTunes playlist. I can’t believe it took me a long time to appreciate the songs from Powerline but I think listening to Michael Jackson songs definitely helped.

It’s still a fun watch to this day!

And still getting issues playing videos, my guess it's only on phones, since I can watch this on the computer just fine.

I was expecting during this review that Mat would state a new variation on his views toward animated comedies nowadays like: “One-dimensional characters are often the case with most animated comedies nowadays as their emphasis on ‘quantity over quality’ can leave little breathing room for supporting or minor players to have their spot in the limelight, whether for gag purposes or to actually move the plot along. In ‘A Goofy Movie,’ however, its minimalist approach flips that ratio so no one overstays their welcome.”

One of the best Goofy outings, there's a reason I rank him higher then Mickey.

Hello there Animat! First off, I’d like to say that this is a very well done review as always. I would also like to say I enjoy your content and I figured I’d help out by suggesting another movie to review if you’re up for it (I wasn’t sure where to do it though so I figured I’d do it here if that’s ok). So if you haven’t heard, there was a Sonic OVA movie that was made in Japan in 1996 and got an English dub in 1999 (if I’m correct). If you’re interested, you can find the full film on YouTube.
