Hey everyone!  I am back today with the start of Nomad of Nowhere!  Whoa!!!!  So we not only get a seeming safe haven for the Nomad, but we start digging a lot more into the past...!!!!  So was the Nomad El Rey?  Or is this how the current El Rey came to power?  I feel like we are finally starting to put the pieces of the puzzle together!!!  Meanwhile, there are a few things that have me asking questions about Toth.  And speaking of Toth, she can't possibly be snubbing her cherished Skout!!!!!!  D:  I can't wait to see where this is all going!
Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

If the elder woman's voice sounds a lot like Maria, it's that VA thing you were talking about. (Also, she and Toth are both Y'dala.)

Put that red ball of string away, don’t you have enough conspiracies to figure out in your lineup already? 😂 Rooster-verse, I like it. Got a nice ring to it. And when does a RT reaction NOT devolve into silliness? Have you noticed that it doesn’t matter how many flights of stairs the protagonists have to traverse, the “nice little old lady” is always going into the next door ahead of them? Also, I’m pretty sure the “Help Me Help You (Help Me)” is a spoof on the movie Jerry Maguire. I guess the most important development here is that Toth has basically been told to abandon Skout or she can’t fulfill her goals. So, she kind of has to do it, even if it’s not something she’s thrilled about. At the same time, we’ll see how long THAT separation will last.

Don P is blunt and honest about what it's all about for him. Gosh not just 1 but 2 shows of gore in this one. I'm now getting worries if something will spring out one day on the Nomad. It better not 😬

kamenriderhime

I knew she sounded like Maria!!! Thanks for confirming and for clarifying about her and Toth!!!!

kamenriderhime

Hahahahahaha there's always room for a little more string, am I right?! :P LOL well yeah, pretty much all of mine devolve into silliness, sooo...!!! And glad you like RoosterVerse! Haha too true about the sweet little old lady trope! Ohhh is that what it's from? I've never seen that movie! Ugh, I hate that Toth is just following the order to abandon Skout....but then I know how important it is to her to follow the rules. I hope it doesn't last long!!!

kamenriderhime

Yeah, at least you know where you stand with him I guess lol. Omg right?! Every once in a while they just have to remind me that even though this is animated, it's not like a cartoon cartoon haha. OMG too true, I'll freak out if that happens!!!!!!!!!

John J Ronald

No, the Nomad is not El Rey....El Rey is still around, still ruling the Kingdom. The flashbacks were visions of what happened at the abandoned castle long, long ago. Since the Nomad doesn't talk, it makes sense the visions in his head are wordless as well.

I love this episode especially for the world building. I want to talk about the Toth and Skout part 1st since there’s less to discuss here. The are you trying jokes now part is really funny to me I think they make a good duo because as characters their personalities really balance each other out and make each other better. It’s so heartwarming to see how much she believes in and motivates Skout. Although I like that we see how Skout is way more sensible and Toth is extremely reckless. Also it’s so interesting to see more of the weird stuff of this world like the lightning sandstorm and this lightning rhino creature. I love how Skout uses her intelligence to figure out the weakness of the rhino to protect them. Even though it shows that this show can go more violent than we see at 1st I love how savage Toth gets protecting Skout and the worry she displays really shows how much she cares about and how important Skout is to her. When this was coming out I remember scared for Skout those of us who watched the show were with the alarming amount of blood there was. Thankfully she made the decision to save Skout in spite of what we then learn. We get to learn the hard way that the Don is much more threatening than appearances would lead you to believe with his extortion of Toth and possibly killing his subordinates. And we finally get to learn why Toth so staunchly goes along with the Don and his harsh rules she mostly does it to help her people who apparently need magic to survive. And they are the Yadala which the undertaker actually mentioned last episode. It’s heartbreaking to see her start to become cold towards Skout when she clearly cares about her, this will hurt both of them and whether you ship them or not Skout is a great friend. Now about the Nomad parts the banners in this place seem to be the symbol of El Rey which looks like a crown with a red eye. Also you mentioned the old woman looks like Toth she is probably from the same race although there are crazy theories from when this was airing that the old woman could be a vision of an future Toth but I don’t believe it. Personally I think it’s more likely just a spirit of 1 of the Yadala. I think you mostly understood the flashbacks but I want to confirm like others that this was the origin of El Rey. It’s such an interesting and cool backstory for who or what is probably the main villain with the story book look and being voiceless because it’s the Nomad seeing this. An adventurer facing trials to get a magical crown becoming a great King using its immense power to help solve many problems building a large and prosperous kingdom. Unfortunately once he grows old whether because of not enough life force or the crown having run out of magic it no longer works. And then horrifyingly when he brings in a magic user to find out what’s wrong it consumes him and when the king puts it back on he changes possibly this is only the crown now. I think the lieutenants he creates have really cool designs and it is very interesting that the gunslinger Lieut. Looks like the Nomad nice observation there. Also a nice detail that explains a lot about this world and why the king wants Nomad the crown keeps consuming magic users and the more of them it kills the more the land becomes barren and desolate. The lore in this episode is great and exciting. Great reaction and I can’t wait for more. Keep up the great work. :-) <3

Also something I forgot to say in the comment is El Rey I believe translates to the light and if this wasn't his original name it says a lot about him being arrogant, narcissistic basically comparing himself to the sun and maybe therefore God. This is just speculation on my part.

Thank you so much and sorry it took forever to get back to you! The dynamic between the two is really interesting for sure! And good call that Toth's people were mentioned last time. The Don is kinda goofy but definitely has some really power and leverage over certain things. Glad I was right about the woman belonging to Toth's clan, and makes sense that maybe she was a spirit! The story of the king is really interesting and scary. Ahhhh so that's why he wants the Nomad, that makes sense! Thank you so much, I'm so happy you enjoyed my reaction! Ahhh good note about the meaning of El Rey too. Thanks for always being so supportive and encouraging, it means a lot!!!!!!!!!
