Hey everyone!  Here's my reaction and review of Clone Wars 6x06!  OOF....well, all that fun shipping kinda came to a dramatic halt here!  Dang guys!!!  This one really proves that there were big red flags, and lots of problems, with Anakin and Padme even prior to all the events of Episode 3.  Furthermore, it's still REALLY hard to watch this all play out according to Palpatine's master plan!  It makes me wonder if even messing with Anakin/Padme was part of his plan here, or just a nice bonus to help cause some inner strife in Anakin that could be used later.  Ugghh!!!  So sad!!!  Can't wait to see what happens next!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

It always amazes me just how much Palpatine had been playing literally EVERYONE during the Clone Wars, he was very willing to play the long game and he played it well. It's sometimes hard to remember that Anakin is in his early 20s, throughout the entirety of the clone wars and when he became Darth Vader, while Padme herself is a little older, and his immaturity and insecurities really play up here and present themselves through his red-flag-like behaviours. Not to mention that because Anakin has been forced to not only conceal many of his own emotions because of the Jedi councils views on attachment and certain emotions but also have to hide the fact that he is infact in a relationship with Padme, he often has to bottle up his negative emotions and leave them to fester (such as any insecurity he may feel with his relationship, the jealousy and the anger of being unable to do really anything about it). Not to mention Anakin isn't wrong, Clovis is a snake. Never liked him when I watched this when I was a kid, still don't like him now haha. I feel like the best thing about how obvious Anakin is with his affections for Padme is that anyone close to him OBVIOUSLY knows. Like Ahsoka and Obi-Wan. But because neither of them want either Padme or Anakin in trouble, they often don't acknowledge it verbally for Anakin's sake. And as even Obi-Wan says he would be a little hypocritical to judge Anakin for any feelings he has for Padme because of his own past with Satine. I feel like Anakin's relationship with Padme had always been apart of Palpatine's plan, after all what better way to control someone then by using their loved one against them - whether that be the rage Anakin may feel at the thought of someone taking her away from him or the fear that would fester in him at the thought of losing her? (After all hate and fear lead to some...darker things arising within us).

2023-01-15 22:47:10 So sad but true! Palpatine masterfully organized this. And such a great point that Anakin is still fairly young here, and has to suppress so much. Clovis was being pretty shady right?! Like just moments before Anakin busts in to beat him up, he's basically threatening Padme into making out with him lol. Yeah at this point, they would HAVE to know, and are most likely keeping quiet for Anakin's sake like you said. That's so true, Palpatine must absolutely love the fact that he has something to use on/against Anakin, ugh. I get so sad and mad thinking about what could have been if it hadn't been for Palpatine!!!!!!! >.<

This is why I can never get on board with Anakin. Not just his unwillingness to listen to Obi-Wan and his Jedi teachings, but we see what happens due to his possessive 'love', when it is superficially threatened, he goes not just off the deep end, but straight up psychotic. This series does do a terrific job of building him up though, as we see how he was managing his emotions slightly better in the earlier seasons, but now after everything with his problems with the order, and now losing Ahsoka, and him achieving quick results with using the dark side to 'protect' his inner circle, we are seeing that his angry side is now beginning to dominate his compassionate side.

That's such a great point!!! Everything you said is true yet the series shows how within context, you can also see how it managed to go unchecked for so long. Yes, losing Ahsoka is a big trigger towards the dark side, I think!
