Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to season 2, episode 8 of REBELS!!!!  Oh wow, we get a Sabine-centric one here!!  And not just that, we get to meet an interesting new character who really shows Sabine the progress of her journey thus far.  I was happy to see Ketsu end up teaming up with our crew, and something tells me we haven't seen the last of her!!!  Great ep! It was funny, when I was going through Rebels my parents were going through Suits. So when I heard Ketsu I was thinking their voice sounded familiar, and it turns out she’s voiced by Gina Torres who was on that show!

Yeah Ketsu is a new character for the show. Love her ship, The Shadowcaster, and its original design was going to be for a major arc in Clone Wars as Ventresses ship. There is only 2 years age difference between Sabine and Ezra, yet she feels like a decade older than him; but then I suppose women mature faster than cheeky young pups like Ezra! To put this into perspective though, Sabine was bounty hunting BEFORE she joined the Ghost crew, so she must've only been about 14 doing that with Ketsu! And no they are not sisters, just old partners in crime. They learn things fast in the Star Wars universe! You'll get a LOT more on Sabine in series 3 in particular, one episode of which, is one of the very best episodes of Rebels. Chopper's maniacal laugh when he disassembles Ketsu's main gun, is always a hoot. And him meeting up with that other legend R2 at the end, is always fun!

So, first I noticed that when Hera gave Sabine her mission (speaking of Hera, seems like she wasted absolutely NO time taking command of things), Chopper immediately started nudging Ezra toward her. Is that droid actually shipping those two? Chopper might have some… ulterior motives. 👀 Sabine’s backstory is the one that seems to be the most clouded. There’s a few bread crumbs but there’s definitely shes a lot she’s not sharing. It does also make her character a little more enigmatic and interesting. Im sure we’ll get to it eventually. Nothing is quite as entertaining as watching Chopper dismantle an adversary’s means of intimidation WHILE they’re trying to intimidate. Also him laughing at her through the window needs to be some sort of GIF or something. Sabine does still seem to have a bit of a ruthless streak. Look what they did to that poor transporter droid, he was just doing his job! Now that you mention it, the helper at the Academy had dark skin and so does Ketsu. Coincidence? 🤔 But I don’t recall him ever actually saying the name. It’s been a while though. Sabine seems to have accepted her new place as a member of the crew as opposed to being a loner, but as Ezra can attest, she’s still a bit of a Tsundere - but most Mandalorians have that capability. R2-D2 and Chopper need to have a spin-off series starring them. There, I said it. And this isn’t really related, but I haven’t heard the name Black Sun mentioned yet since I haven’t seen Clone Wars yet: so when the name came up, first thing that popped into my head - this bounty hunter works for a bunch of shady people that ship Blake and Sun? (RWBY) 😂 😂 😂

Sweet! Yes the ship is great. Yeah, they're at that age where the maturity can really vary haha. Awww, cheeky young pup Ezra!!! XD She was super young, wow! That's what I thought, they're close like sisters but not blood related. YES, cannot wait for more Sabine! Hahahaha Chopper is downright scary and awesome right! Oh yes, gotta love any and all R2 we get on the show!!!

Actually on R2, in this episode he was supposed to have been the courier instead of the Gonk droid, but the developers then had a change of heart, as they felt R2 and Chopper teaming up, would take away from the story of Sabine and Ketsu's history, so the remnants of that idea were used at the end, when Chopper hands off the Gonk droid to R2.

Oh yeah, Hera was born for command1 Ooooh Chopper shipping Ezra and Sabine?! Yes please!!! Sabine definitely has some mystery which makes any crumbs we get on her backstory even more interesting. LOL Chopper has no chill for things like intimidation. And yeah, Chopper's whole life should just be in a series of memes at this point!!! The laughing was amazing! Well, I guess just cause she stopped being a bounty hunter doesn't mean she doesn't still have a bit of an aggressive streak! Yeah I went back and checked and the name was different, so my theory was wrong! But still, it's not out of the question! LOL Sabine's a total tsundere, not unlike other Mandalorians we've met, but still seems to be settled as part of our crew like you said. OMG, I would watch an R2/Chopper spin-off ALL DAY!!! HAHAHAHAHA clearly there's a whole criminal organization devoted to shipping Blake and Sun! I thought Black Sun was mentioned in Boba Fett too but I guess not, I probably meshed things together since I was watching CW and that at the same time!!

Ohhh ok! Yeah, I could see how Chopper and R2 would steal the show haha. But cool to know that that little part at the end of was a remnant of the original story!

Black Sun has an interesting history. It's essentially a Crime Syndicate. It originated in Shadows of The Empire (Both the video game and the book) from Legends and was recanonized in Clone Wars.

Oh nice!!! I vaguely remember Shadows of the Empire being around when I was a kid. Cool that it was canonized!!!
