Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to season 2 episode 5 of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime!  Oh dang guys, I knew things were gonna boil up in a big way once the church set their sights on JTF, but watching and knowing how put together our great nation is, it hurt even more to know that they still might be outmatched here!  I was super impressed, as always, at Shion and Shuna showing up to put a stop to the Otherworlders' nonsense!  And Gobta was awesome too haha.  Definitely some romance going on with Mjurran and Youm here....which leads to......a big decision for Mjurran???  Something tells me things aren't ever gonna be the same!  :O  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Hey again! Mjurran is quite the controversial character. The trip from where she and Youm met took a month I think, so it makes more sense that they get closer. By the way, so refreshing not to have a tsundere couple who are awkward and try to hide their feelings!. Mjurran's species is forest witch. She is 500 years old. You're right, it's not her thoughts that are being controlled, but her life. Is Milim being controlled? Maybe, maybe not! Hahaha. The pastry is a cream puff. Mjurran doesn't have enough information to make an complete assessment of the situation. She thinks she's saving the town, but more importantly Youm.

There is a whole lot of arrogance to go around among the bad guys: the Otherworlders, Falmuth, the Church, Clayman. The story of the Otherworlders serves as a bit of a moral tale. Since they've been there, they've been the strongest in Falmuth, and spoiled. They are convinced they're invincible. You'll see it eventually.... Yes, the timing is crucial here. Rimuru handling it constructively? Hahahahaha..... Make of my reaction what you will. Rimuru naive? Maybe. He's still thinking like an individual, not the ruler of a country.... Shuna has the ability to analyze magic, among other related skills.... Be prepared for lotsa cliffhangers! You will be frustrated.

One of the first things that is said in this episode is Mjurran scolding Youm and telling him “the reason you humans get into trouble is because you get reckless.” If that isn’t foreshadowing I don’t know what is, given the events of the episode. As far as the two of them, it seems they might have been together for a slight bit of time at this point? I don’t think feelings for someone develop immediately, but it’s not like they have any control over how they feel. It’s a little more problematic for Mjurran because Clayman has her heart under control, so it’s probably safe to assume that he can read her private emotions as well. Which would be a horrible thing for anyone to deal with: how’d you like anyone to know anything and everything you were thinking or feeling? Clayman did say “you don’t want to die, do you?” Which makes me think that he’s not just holding her hostage but he also has the capability of ending her life if he so wishes, so she’s kind of being held at gunpoint, for lack of a better term. It’s super interesting when you think about the fact that Rimuru doesn’t appear in this episode. At all. Yet his prints are all over the city, especially with how Gobta and Shuna are trying to handle the Otherworlders and their scheming. I’d like to take this moment to pat myself on the back, because way back when you started this series, remember when I said “you just know with all these friendly monsters, humans are no doubt going to end up causing problems for them. It’s how we operate.” That being said I don’t think Clayman is actually working directly with Falmuth. He’s definitely got a bone to pick with Rimuru after last season, so their interests align but I don’t think they’re in cahoots. Grucius seems to be a pretty sharp cookie, calling out Mjurran like that, despite not being a JTF citizen himself. Also Albis said Eurazania would go to war in one week with Milim: what, are we scheduling battles now? Even Mjurran doesn’t seem to know exactly what’s happening, but you can bet Clayman has his hands all over it. So there’s an anti magic barrier and a prison field as well, that just happened to go up at about the same time. Not sure what the overall effect of this is but you know it can’t be good. I should move on, you already have seen the next episode.

I ❤ Gobta darn it. That was such a great thing he did. I felt so bad for Gobzo. It's hard to see someone put under false pretenses like that. And Shion and Shuna were really great here. Grucuis and Youm as well. We got a lot of really good people stepping up for their friends.

kamenriderhime

I know!!! It's awful to see a situation like that escalate. Everyone really stepped up for sure! We've got so many great folks in this town/nation....I hope they'll all be okay!

kamenriderhime

Hey! Ah, that does make sense then, they had some time to get close. Omg I know, it's nice that they can just be more out on the surface about it! Thanks for the info on Mjurran! Hmmm, I'm not sure about Milim...!!! I'm leaning towards yes. Ah, yes, it seemed like she was acting to protect them.

kamenriderhime

Very true! It does seem like they wouldn't be used to someone with the power level of Rimuru, let alone someone who uses it the way he does. Hmm, I wonder what that reaction could mean! Good point too, that he might not be thinking like a leader fully at this point, since it's all so new. Ahhhhh no, I'm so scared!!!

kamenriderhime

Oof, yeah, some foreshadowing going on there! Yeah, I forgot about the passage of some time between the two here, but it makes sense. Ugh, that's gross and awful that Clayman can feel/read her thoughts and emotions!!! Good call, he can probably kill her at any time. Exactly, such a good point that Rimuru isn't even in this yet you can see his influence everywhere. Yeah, you were right about humans causing trouble! :/ I had a feeling once the nation formed that they were going to start attracting attention, and not necessarily the good kind. Ah ok, thanks for clarifying that they're not in on this together. Grucius calls it like it is for sure. And yeah, I guess we had the courtesy of making an appointment for the war lol??? Yeah, Clayman undoubtedly is involved. Yup, two field/barrier things. Ugh, the next one was brutal!!!

Dethrox

yeaah.. people can say how many times they want that the otherworlders are basicly.. like oppressed.. having no free will.. almost like being slaves or something.. being summoned from their world and taken from their families.. friedns.. etc etc.. doesnt matter.. i hate them.. they are acting like total inhuman garbage beings.. and one could say they see the monsters only as enemies or something.. but.. heck.. not here.. in JFT.. how stupid you have to be to do what they did..

kamenriderhime

I mean, I have to agree with that! I know everyone has a story but I saw zero redeeming qualities in ANY of them and seeing Shion's horn broken, and all of them dead.......yeah they're garbage people for sure!
