Star Wars Rebels 2x09 "Stealth Strike" - reaction & review (Patreon)

Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to season 2, episode 9 of REBELS!!!!  Oh dang, and Rex and Kanan team-up mission?!?!?!  Count me in!!!  Watching Rex in the Stormtrooper gear was surreal and awesome!  Also, I feel my stormtrooper armor getting a little tight as well :/  Happens to the best of us!!!
I loved that they had to learn how to work together, particularly Kanan, and put aside their differences.  They provide a great example of why clones and Jedi worked so well in the first place!!!  Love it!!  Great ep! Enjoy!!!  ~ MH

Man, i loved seeing an Indertictor Class Star Destroyer, pulling again stuff from the EU that is a great addition. Sadly disney seemingly forgot about that later on.

It seems that Ezra has grown a lot, and at the start of the episode he’s the one who wants to get away from the adults squabbling. He’s not fully in tune with his Force powers yet, but he’s getting more aware as he detected “something’s about to happen.” Speaking of squabbling, Rex and Kanan are being complete tsunderes in this episode. Guys, this is why a show dynamic usually only has ONE of them at a time. But not gonna lie - then bickering is actually QUITE entertaining. “Why does the Empire keep letting us steal these things (shuttles)?” Thank you, I was waiting for someone to address just how nonchalant Imperials seem to be with their equipment! 😂 You know when someone in the Empire poo-poohs one of our characters everybody makes that face. You know, the one you just made. 😏 Also, clearly Ezra calling himself Jabba isn’t working anymore. Next time try R2-D2 and see if it works. Ezra seems to be able to hold his own in a fight now from the way he dispatched those Stormtroopers. Also he doesn’t seem to be interested in using lethal force if possible - which was a good thing for Kanan and Rex. Meanwhile Chopper is just watching all this squabbling, throwing kerosene on the fire and eating whatever passes for droid popcorn. Funny how the gravity well section looks an awful lot like the tractor beam station in Episode IV. Also never tell Chopper chaos isn’t part of the plan. Ezra isn’t wrong though, the Empire does not pay attention to droids. Have you noticed people sure like to say their possible farewells as a door is closing between them on this show? It was Rex and Kanan this episode but it sure seems to becoming a trope here. Finally, now we understand why Stormtroopers suck! They can’t see! The Empire mass produced faulty armor and helmets so no wonder they’re always missing! You’d think someone would address that… but you know, the Empire’s either too arrogant or cheap to care. Probably both. Good for us though! 😆

Here it is, the episode where Chopper just casually murders 50,000 imperials! He almost kills Ezra too with his shenanigans at that reactor! He is a true agent of chaos! One of the best, most fun standalone episodes of Rebels, a real caper for our crew to get up to all sorts of mischief! Agent Kallus warning that Admiral not to underestimate Ezra, and we see why, as Ezra is becoming quite proficient with his lightsabre/blaster, he is on his way to becoming quite formidable a fighter. I can imagine Jabba The Hutt being annoyed by hearing on the grapevine about some cocky kid using his name as a pseudonym! Kanan saying Rex is a stormtrooper shows how he's still blocked about working with a clone, not a very Jedi-like thing to say. Thankfully, as they work together over the mission, they begin to respect one another for their abilities, and that salute at the end, I'm sure meant a lot to Rex. While Rebels is certainly self-contained, this story is part of the Star Wars lore now, so whilst Luke is picking up power converters on Tosche Station on Tatooine, this lot is doing their bit to rid the galaxy of the Empire! :D

HAHAHAHAH #chopped now trending!!! Yeah I think they may have painted him up for the mission? If I'm remembering right I think maybe they had done that before when trying to sneak him in as an Imperial droid? Don't quote me though!

Hahahaha pretty horrifying actually! OMG agent of chaos should be his official crew member title. It truly was fun! LOL Jabba should be honored that his name is being used for such awesome lightsaber feats and shenanigans :P So true, that was not a Jedi-like attitude but really shows Kanan's emotions here. I'm so glad they learned to work together and developed a mutual respect and bond! I love that this is canon and is just happening while everything we've known as the "main" story happens!!!

Yeah, Ezra is growing up! And he for sure is getting more in tune with the Force. HAHAHAH they're total tsunderes right?!?! The bickering is pretty darn entertaining. LOL I love that they call out how much they steal from the Empire! Oh I know the face, I know it well. Hehe I'm not sure R2 will stand for someone usurping his name! It's a very good thing for Kanan and Rex that he was just set on knocking the troopers out. And yeah, he's gotten quite strong and clever! Oh good call, there is a resemblance to a tractor beam. Yeah it's lucky for us that the Empire doesn't pay attention to droids! Oh yeah, the door trope is a trope isn't it?? Ah that's a total design flaw with the stormtroopers right?!?!! Like no wonder they can't aim for crap lol. The Empire has a lot of oversights that add up to be real problems over time, don't they??

We are going to get more on this very timeline, with the Andor series coming mid-September, so we might see some more familiar faces in that series; and will flesh out more of the behind the scenes missions, the Rebellion is doing before the Battle Of Yavin. The first trailer looks good, and they released a second one yesterday, but I don't want to spoil myself for it. With that, series 2 of the Bad Batch, and Tales Of The Jedi, there will be plenty more Star Wars just this year, before Ahsoka's series, Mando series 3 and The Acolyte all coming next year. Good time to be a Star Wars fan! :D

Oh nice! No kidding! WOW, we have so many series coming even before Ahsoka's!!! It's a great time to be a Star Wars fan for sure!!
