Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to season 2 episode 14 of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime!  Oh no, so the grandmaster guy was really in on a big scheme this whole time?!  I knew that was one of the only people Rimuru had told, but wow......just having confirmation was still a surprise!  We also get some good perspective on the rest of the world outside of monsters here, and I think it was a great idea to get some humans and other leaders in on this meeting.  Oh yeah, and we meet Eren's dad!  OH YEAH, and JTF will be no more soon!!!  Wait WHAT!!!!!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Hi Hime :) Shion's cooking won't be a joke anymore, sniff. But you will have another source of humor, you already have some with Diablo and Shion who are trying to show who is the best secretary, but wait to see Ramiris with Veldora. Erald is a kind of elf and Gazel the king of the dwarves, so when they "insult" each other during their first exchange, it is of course a reference to the dwarf / elf relationship that is often shown in heroic fantasy, where these two races cannot get along and are in competition (Gimly and Legolas for example). Don't worry, you'll learn more about the Kazalim, Laplace, Clayman relationship later. But to put it simply, Demon lod Kazalim was the leader of harlequins like Laplace and Footman. Yuuki who had his soul in him, must surely be a bit like Rimuru with Veldora. Just as Rimuru brought Veldora back, Yuuki brought Kazilim back. As for Leon, there is a good chance that he killed Kazalim, in order to become a demon lord, so a good reason why Kazalim would be angry with him. I had warned that these two episodes were going to be rich in discussions and information, and it's not finished as you can imagine lol.

There’s a lot to unpack in here, so I’m just going to see if I can put pieces in place as I go. The temple seen at the start is the epicenter of the Western Holy Church, and it’s being guarded by a Demon Lord named Valentine, who happens to be a vampire who treats humans and demihumans as food. It’s also the place that Hinata is loyal to. There’s so much wrong with this scenario, but it’s mostly quite obvious. You didn’t watch this OVA prior to Season 2, but it pretty much covered Hinata learning about the events going on in the JTF and the actions of Rimuru, thanks to a book she received from a traveling merchant. Where do you think she was when she got this book? Engrassia, of course. Right where Yuuko is. Speaking of which he’s got some stones, as while he’s plotting, he’s still reading the manga Rimuru gave him earlier. But Laplace said he was just hiding behind the face of the Grandmaster, so it definitely could be someone else. Remember the ability Razen had to possess another form. It seems that the Moderate Harlequin Alliance, has been waiting for the return of their President. Including Clayman, at least according to Laplace. This individual also happens to be a Demon Lord named Kazalim - and they’ve been trapped for 200 years? It seems that a homunculus has been provided for them, but not of the usual gender and it was made in Thalion, the same kingdom Eren/Eryune and Erald are from. Remember Erald is also currently a homunculus which impressed Rimuru, but Kazalim seems a lot less impressed with the body. It seems Kazalim and Valentine have been at odds before, and every time they’ve clashed there was massive collateral damage. They also seem to have a bone to pick with Leon about something. Perhaps Leon is responsible for their initial imprisonment? It’s only a guess. I keep using “they” because it’s a female body but the person was clearly male before by Laplace’s reactions. It seems that freeing Veldora has stirred up quite a hornet’s nest even among Rimuru’s Allie’s. Not only is the church much more adverse to this particular dragon, but he keeps getting referred to by Erald as the “Evil Dragon.” Now I do wonder if that’s just a moniker because it’s always been “assumed” that a church is good, and they use titles like that to create stigmas. But we know the church has been much shadier than Veldora. Of course, the dragon doesn’t actually have his talons squeaky clean, given what happened prior to imprisonment. But he did say the whole thing was a bit of a misunderstanding, and maybe Rimuru will be able to reign him in. Hinata’s actions seem to have been driven both by reports she received painting Rimuru in a poor light as well as rage over Shizu’s death. I imagine those two will come to a head. It seems like the secretaries both want first crack at it, and Veldora’s just kinda bored. Rimuru’s become the head of the house and is trying to break up fights between all his kids! But it seems for the most part, things are going well. Oh, hey Ramiris… JTF is doomed? Again? Must be a Tuesday. But now that she’s here, Treyni did mention the Dryads were cut off from the Queen of Spirits and had to be taken in by Veldora. Well… she’s right there. Maybe how’s a good time for the two of you to have a discussion? I’ll be out for the rest of the weekend but I’ll catch up when I get back. In the meantime, stock up on peanuts for Friday. 😉 I never get these response comments out till late usually so it seems it takes you a couple days especially if they’re long. East Coast Vs West Coast I guess. :)

Thanks for clarifying about the Demon Lord/harlequins! Ohh ok, so Yuuki is still Yuuki, it was more of a Rimuru/Veldora situation, got it! Oh that would make sense if Leon killed him! Hahaha oh wow, I'll try to focus really hard!!!

Ohh thanks for clarifying all that! Oh I know, he still reads the manga Rimuru gave him, the nerve! Yeah that's kinda what I was thinking, it sounds like someone is using his body, like we saw Razen do. Oh good call that Erald is one too, hmm...! Good idea using they! And also, it seems likely Leon had something to do with this. I wonder what could be so evil about Veldora, he's so sweet and friendly haha. Yeah if only Hinata knew the truth! the secretary rivalry is great! Rimuru is the ultimate parent lol. Oh yeah, good call that Ramiris might have a few things to fill in the Dryads about. And yeah, seems like the JTF is in trouble more often than not! Oh yeah there's a big time difference, plus if they're long I like to set them aside so I can take my time reading them! I know I'm very very late, sorry, RL. So the story as I understand it is that Yuki was drawn into this world, (he wasn't summoned), Kazalim just immediately found Yuuki once he was here, and being a deathman/undead elf, he can come back to life after a few hundred years. To do that he tried to possess Yuuki. Surprisingly, he failed, and Yuuki subdued Kazalim within himself instead. Yuuki always had that personality, he was ambitious (some things happened in his original world to make him that way), and he was a genius, but his opportunities expanded when he came to this world. Kazalim will take some time to fully come back to their original strength (a long time). Leon did indeed kill Kazalim, so the whole Troupe have held a grudge ever since. They've had some friction but no major fights because of two reasons: the non-interference pact, and Leon is just stronger (and he doesn't care). ....Veldora has come a long way in maturity since living in Rimuru's Stomach, but he still isn't very mature. Rimuru regards Veldora as much more intelligent than him, though. He also never had a humanoid body before. All he seemed to do for fun was rampage, and let his energy hang out.

No worries!! OHHHHH that's what happened, got it! Thanks for clarifying! Also good to have confirmation about Leon. Hahaha Veldora has grown but not that much I guess! He's found a much more constructive way to spend his time now - reading manga!!!!!!! Manga saves lives, spread the word :P
