Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to season 2, episode 19 of REBELS!!!!  Wow, what a heartwarming ep, full of adventure, action and most importantly, focused on Chopper!  I was so happy to see him get a standalone ep, and also do something unexpected - make a friend!  It's subtle, but I loved getting a bit more detail on Chopper's origins as well as having these two droids who lived in very different worlds during the Clone Wars come together to face what this new world has in store for them.  And I'm super happy we didn't just kill off our new droid friend at the end haha.  Yay, new base!!!  Great ep! Haha this one always amuses. After the heavier episodes throughout this season, this is just a lot of fun and quite sweet in its own way! We've had character development episodes with all the crew this season, so why not Chopper too - he deserves it! When he rolls along on his squeaky wheel, I always laugh, it kind of shows his character, a touch unhinged, but really endearing and fun. Him keeping that image of Hera too is really sweet, as it shows just how much he cares for her after she helped him after his ship got shot down in the Ryloth campaign in the Clone Wars. He is an old droid, the C1 droids went out of production when the R2 units came along, and his parts are all mismatched, as shown by his leg, his front hobbled together, and his dome being more angular than what it should be, circular. In fact we've now seen another C1 droid in the franchise, and he was in the last arc in Clone Wars as C1-133P (Cheep), one of the droids who helps Ahsoka escape. We didn't see Chopper in TCW, no, he was developed for Rebels. The only one of our crew we see in TCW is a young Kanan in season 7 as a kind of easter egg for fans. Here he is with his master Depa Billaba, if you didn't go back and watch that cameo we spoke of in season 1 Mel : https://i.redd.it/h0ossds9qvx61.jpg Chopper doesn't consider himself old, but with all the mismatched parts and him not being wiped just like with R2, he developed his cheeky, surly attitude. Its rather cute when he connects with AP-5 (aka Alan Rickman droid!) as he is just as cantankerous as him! And now he has a friend, AP-5 is his C-3P0! Hera calling Chopper by his designation, C1-10P - you know you are in trouble when she uses your full name! Love the line about the Rebel fleet counting on Chopper! He may be a bit reckless, selfish and maniacal - but he IS a Rebel! :D

It’s about time we focused on the REAL star of the show and resident tsundere, Chopper, aka C1-10P, aka Shopper. Melissa: “I want a leg.” Me: “This isn’t the order counter for KFC!” It does seem like a lot of “lives” and such were thrown into chaos after the events at the end of the Clone Wars, and not just people. Droids had to learn new trades as well. The Empire uses them like people: as tools. (There’s that word again, if any of the rest of you’ve been watching Melissa’s reactions now and in the past on other shows, that word can be a “trigger” of sorts. :D) “No one would bother to rescue a droid.” Excuse me, I believe Chopper and a certain other famous astromech who’s been around since the beginning would like to debate you on that. “Oh man, I hope nothing happens to him…” *gets shot one minute later Why do you continue to ask for stuff? Chopper fighting with a leg and beating up the Imperial Captain is priceless. But don’t worry. That droid is armless! 😄 (He’s also not the only character with mismatched limbs we are familiar with… 😉) Oh, speaking of triggers. AP-5: You called me “friend.” Am I really your friend? You’re welcome. Meanwhile, the entire fleet is betting on Chopper to save them. Like Sabine’s friend though, trust the allies you’ve made… and then try not to think about this one too hard. 😅

We got a leg up on the empire here. Finally got to know about the dark, brooding and mysterious true hero of the group haha! The naughty Choplifter. That ending was great. They have good rapport with one another. I can’t wait to see more of the two together.

Yes I agree!!! And why not involve Chopper on the character development for sure! Hahaha unhinged but endearing is a great way to describe Chopper in general! That is sweet about the connection with Hera. Ohhhhh there's definitely a resemblance between Chop and Cheep! Good to know he wasn't in Clone Wars so I don't have to drive myself crazy haha. OHHHH thanks for the photo of Kanan! Wow, wouldn't have guessed that was him! I think I was expecting him to be 16/17 and not 12/13, I must be a little off on his age. I love that between the part swapping and no memory loss, he's got sass in droves. Oohhhh I know that was totally the droid equivalent of mom calling you by your full name! Omg yes, Chopper is the ultimate Rebel, despite his, erm, more impulsive actions at times!!! OMG Alan Rickman droid, that's perfect haha!!! Love that they're friends now!

YES, Shopper!!! Hahahaha now I'm hungry for KFC!!! So true that not only people, but droids had to forge for new roles and purpose in the new world that formed after the Empire did. OMG, I'm seeing the similarities in the shows for sure! Hahah yeah saying a line like that when Chopper and R2 exist....c'mon! Hahahaha I need to stop saying these things right! HAHAHAHAHAHAH I don't know what's funnier, Chopper beating the guy with his arm, the armless joke, or the very amazingly obvious and hilarious fact that I do love another character who does not have their original arm. :P NOOOOOOO why would you go there with the friend line!!!!!!!!!!!! D': Lol. Yeah, sometimes you gotta just believe in your friends!!! And not overthink (not my strong suit, but hey, it's nice to dream)!

Kanan is 28 when we first meet him in Rebels (btw Hera in season 1 is only 24 though she appears and acts older - but when you are fighting the good fight for so long, I suppose you will mature quicker), and season 1 is set 14 years after Revenge Of The SIth, hence Kanan was around 14 in that image; the same age as when we first meet Ezra. Zeb is also 11 years older than Kanan, which I always find funny when sometimes he's referred to as 'one of the kids'! :D Chopper is probably then around Zeb's age or older. That image also tells another story. In the foreground we also see Mace Windu, and Depa Billaba (who wasn't featured in the Clone Wars series until then, but was in the first few movies, as a background High Council member, like Plo Koon and Kit Fisto), was originally his padawan. So the lineage goes Windu>Billaba>Kanan>Ezra. on AP-5, I don't know whose idea it was to tell the VA to do an impression of Alan Rickman, but it works so well. I dunno if you've seen (or heard) of Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy, but Alan Rickman in that played an android, called Marvin the paranoid android, who always was the ultimate pessimist; and perhaps it was a nod to that. Alan Rickman is much missed, like Carrie Fisher, one of those gone too soon.

Oh thanks for clarifying! Yeah they all seem older, but war ages you a lot I guess. Hahhaah so fun that Zeb is actually older!! Definitely falls into the bickering kid role a lot lol. So Chopper is the oldest, nice!!! Wooooww!!! So cool that Billaba was trained by Mace Windu. That makes Kanan his grand padawan and Ezra his great grand padawan!!!!!!!! :P Ohh yes I've heard of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy!!! What a fun character! So cool that we have a sort of parody of it here with AP-5! Yes they are both missed!!!
