Hey everyone!  Here's my next reaction to MHA!  OMG YOU GUYS!!!!  I know they didn't just do what I think they did.......!!!!!!  This episode goes so far in highlighting something they've been trying to get across to us this whole time - that villains have hearts, feelings, motivations, etc. too.  Twice was my favorite villain :(  Please, please tell me he's not gone?  That scene was heartbreaking, his last words to Toga D':
I think things just got really real you guys........!!!!!!!!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Yes unfortunately Twice is now gone. One bad day screwed his whole life up. Don't worry though, this is just the start!

If you like Mirko they expand her story in the prequal manga series MHA: Vigilantes. If anything her attitude thus far is tame. Some say things got much much more grim after a friend or family member of horikoshi's died. I can't wait, since i'm caught up with the manga and... yea it gets crazy.

Spadeas

Hi Hime :) Being a manga reader, I knew it was going to happen and I tried to gently prepare you for it by saying during the first episode, that the Hawks / Twice relationship made me sad and that there was a chance that it would end bad... So without saying too much, but yeah, Twice is gone and it hurts even more that Hawks didn't want to do it either. In an alternate reality, Hawks and Twice could have been really good friends.

This episode devastated me Twice's one of my favorite villains & characters. As another reaction channel beautifully said Twice died as he lived surrounded by his friends. <3 Longer comment coming at some point. We will deal with the emotional turmoil together. :-) <3

Hawks had to do what had to be done. Twice was never gonna back down with his family on the line, and with a quirk like his, it would be way too dangerous to just let him do as he pleases. That still doesn’t make it any less tragic though. Don’t know if you noticed it, but if you go back towards the end of the episode when Twice escaped the Dabi & Hawks situation and look when the real Twice made that last clone - when the screen freezes and pans up, Hawks is enshrouded in Dabi’s fire with his feather sword raised about to strike Twice. So…..yeah, that blood you saw was Twice’s unfortunately. What makes it even sadder is that he didn’t even really get to say goodbye himself, it was his clone. He also had his trusting nature taken advantage of, not once, but “twice”. :-(

Twice was one of my favorite villains, but it unfortunately makes sense to get rid of him. After last season he was just too OP, it’d be hard for both sides to feel even when they could have a second army in an instant. Doesn’t change the fact that I just sorta assumed he was safe because he was one of the bigger villains though. His death is a great way to show that you can’t assume anybody is safe here, except Deku and Shigaraki.

kamenriderhime

NOOOOOO!!! So sad!!! Can't believe this is just the start....could have easily seen them saving this for a mid-season finale ep and here it is in ep 3!!!

kamenriderhime

Oh nice!! I need to check that out! Wow! Also that's too bad. I'll be curious to see how the season develops! Sounds like I'm not ready!!!

kamenriderhime

Hi Spadeas! :) Oh wow, you for sure were trying your best with me haha! I know, the whole situation is so sad. I would have loved to see them become real friends!!! :(

kamenriderhime

Awww!!! He was a great character! OMG yes, that is so true!!! Thanks for helping me deal lol!

kamenriderhime

That's the thing, I don't know what choice would have made me happy here lol because neither one of them was acting irrationally or in the wrong. It's all just dependent on your perspective. Ooohhh I did not notice that, yikes!! I was wondering what exactly was going on there. Ooof!! At least he got to say goodbye at all but that's still pretty sad. OHHHHHHH the irony of that!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel like I've just been hit right in the heart!!!!!!!!

kamenriderhime

That's the thing, he was pretty OP at this point!!! But yes, I would have assumed he was safe too, but no. Dang!!! Now I'm extra worried for everyone lol.

Its War, people die...and it wont stop here.

2022-12-31 00:41:28 This was a great reaction & episode. It’s crazy to think this is the best episode of the season yet when they have all been great. It’s hilarious to see Re Destro go from calm to absolutely stressed although unfortunately it’s good for him since stress powers his quirk I love seeing the heroes at work at the start. They are incredible at incapacitating the villains. I honestly think what Edgeshot does with his potentially lethal attack is small foreshadowing for what the heroes are willing to do and for how far Hawks is willing to go. Seeing Midnight in action is awesome especially her athleticism and I like that the reason for putting those villains to sleep besides making it easier to capture was to make sure they didn’t try to move even after Edgeshot’s warning. It’s crazy to see just how many villains 3 heroes were able to capture between Kamui Woods & 2 students. It shows how incredible those powers are for containment as well as how well the mushroom & softening quirks work together. One of the Pro heroes in the crowd looks like Sonic the Hedgehog which has to be a reference to the video game character which is cool. Everything relating to Twice & Hawks in this episode was incredible. Especially the voice actors of both characters. You could really feel the emotions at play during this interaction. It’s extremely upsetting to see the genuine confusion and gradual realization from Twice about what’s going on especially with the shaky voice and crying. It’s heartwarming that his only concern is about putting his friends in danger but it sucks to see him blaming himself and believing he’s letting them down again. Hawks coming from the light into the darkness is a brilliant visual considering what he does. Also his face being completely in shadow except for his extremely detailed birdlike eyes is terrifying. I’m glad Hawks tried to end this peacefully and didn’t want to fight Twice. I really love getting to learn/see more of Hawks as a character with this. You can see that he is resigned/resolved to do whatever it takes to get Twice off the battlefield. And of course Twice would not accept the offer after having just been betrayed with his friends/family in danger. And he may be right that this offer is convenient for Hawks but Hawks also means it. This entire situation in my opinion is supposed to make you feel wrong/slimy with Twice being a great person. Also the visual of all the distraught Twice’s is great but really dark/sad. You letting out a long sigh talking about not liking the stuff with Twice was very relatable. Amajiki is still adorable when he gets a compliment. The centaur form with pineapple flails is definitely awesome. Ragnarok as a name for Tokoyami’s new move is really cool. This encounter of Dark Shadow & Re Destro is crazy for a couple reasons one. This is the same size Dark Shadow as when it went wild during the training camp and Tokoyami has complete control of it now 2. It is crazy to see them on equal terms power wise considering how strong RD is. It really shows how scary Gigantomachia that dark shadow is frightened of him even in his large form. When they said as long as Shigaraki isn’t involved Gigantomachia won’t do anything my reaction was great another thing to be terrified of. Hawks is probably the perfect counter to Twice with his speed and its shown by how easily he deals with all the doubles. The slow, sad music adds so much to the scene especially the string instrument. It hurts to see him create/bring the entire league to his side only for them to be destroyed. Everything he does must feel so futile and that sucks. Hawks did try to keep emotions out of this but just couldn’t because he does like Twice. Then we get something the show has been doing well showing that villains are people too and are often failed by the system showing the current state of things is very flawed. Also besides the fact that they could have been friends the worst part is that Hawks really has no choice but to do what’s necessary because the current system is messed up but what the villains want to do isn’t the solution. I know it’s bad for the heroes but I’m honestly impressed by Dabi here with his surprise attack. I’m glad he said what he did to Twice & was encouraging him because Twice deserved some reassurance and hope at that point. And of course Hawks meets his natural enemy here. Also I should have figured knowing his personality that Dabi never trusted him I guess it’s the whole keep your friends close and your enemies closer saying. I admire Twice’s determination to keep fighting even when so injured. I love the high 5 it’s like tagging in from wrestling. And somehow Dabi knows Hawks real name Keigo Takami which gives us plenty to think about. Also I need to point something out that was said in a comment I saw if you remember Ending the guy obsessed with Endeavor from season 5. He said he became obsessed with Endeavor years ago when Endeavor arrested a villain named Takami a relative and something connected to Hawks’s past perhaps I would say yes if so I can’t wait to learn what’s going on with that. It’s so insane to see Twice still going even as he dies & that goes for the extremely damaged double as well all because of his love for his family. Also that shot of Hawks coming through the fire to deliver the finishing blow is terrifying and awesome and shows his determination willing to get burned to do this. Twice killing the hero who caught Toga & Compress is one of the more disturbing things in the show which is saying something mostly because of the voice acting. The intense, dark and sad music accompanying Twice’s death is brilliant & beautiful. His entire final speech is so moving it was accentuated by the voice acting so much. It sucks that his final moments were him apologizing and believing he failed his family particularly Toga. I am so happy that she embraced him & thanked him in the end even if it’s sad the original never knew he saved her and died not hearing that gratitude but at least they were able to have a proper goodbye. The look on her face is extremely upsetting since it’s almost disbelieving. I think the next time we see Toga she will be in a rage & going on a rampage. And I need to remind you there is a lot of Twice’s blood around and she can use other people’s powers when transforming into them so that could be bad. It’s so sad and heartwarming that his final thoughts were how happy he was to have this family. I was already devastated and crying but then they had to add the new Toga & Twice stuff to the ending specifically for this episode which broke me completely. I really love your ending thoughts because you touched on a lot of important points. Also it shows how much you understand this series. Finally your denial was very relatable although darkly funny so thanks for cheering me up LOL. Awesome reaction. Keep up the great work. :-) <3

Thank you so much!! And that's an interesting point about the foreshadowing of what the heroes are willing to do too! Midnight was great, and omg you're right about the Sonic reference! I couldn't agree more about the voice acting and the emotions coming through. The whole thing was so well done and so tragic. Glad you agreed with the sigh lol! It's so true about the system being broken and a lot of the villains being the result of that. LOL the high five was totally like a tag in wrestling! Twice just kept going, gotta love it. Ohhhh good call about the arrest of the person related to Hawks' past, I'd totally forgotten about that! Yeah Dabi knowing so much is interesting. I know, I couldn't believe that hero death scene!!! The goodbye scene was so tough and so beautiful. Toga was in shock for sure. I love that she embraced him when he apologized. OHHHH good call about Twice's blood!!! Did not even think of that. OMG I know, the Toga/Twice stuff was just heartbreaking!! Thank you so much!!! I'm so happy you enjoyed my reaction and discussion!! LOL I always go right for denial mode :P Thank you for being so kind and supportive!!!
