Hey everyone!  Here I am with Red vs. Blue, season 10, eps 5- 7!  Whoa, we get lots more info about the past in this one, starting with getting to see Theta!  AND Sigma, briefly, but memorably, wow!!!  So the Meta plan was in motion for a bit then...!!
Also, Carolina's regret about Maine :(  Not to mention just getting to see lots more of everyone's personalities and interactions.  I am so invested!!!!  Of course we get to balance that out with some fun nonsense from our current crew!  Caboose, my sweet boy!!!  And Wash talking them out of leaving...omg, he knows just how to handle them!!!  Can't wait for more!  Great eps!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Hey youve now met a very special character, Sigma, Carolina's AI. In case you don't have the ear for it he is voiced by Elijah Wood

Kayleigh McRae

Theta is my son!!! He baby!!! 🥰🥰🥰

Kayleigh McRae

To answer your question on what Theta represents. If I remember correctly he was the Alpha's "Trust". Which explains his child like niave nature. And why he also seems scared to be alone. You can tell Theta has some sort of PTSD from Alpha's torturing. Never wanting to be away from North, getting scared of not knowing what to expect. Makes me wonder what torture method would make Alpha not want to Trust anymore.

Lot of character introductions in this one. Sigma, Theta and a certain currently unnamed blue armored badass in an ODST helmet that was hanging out in the water with Wyoming. His name would be kind of a spoiler because they don't call him by it for a while. A little behind the scenes: the way Elijah Wood tells it, Rooster Teeth asked if he would do a cameo, he said he would do as much as they'd let him, and Burnie made him one of the most pivotal characters of the series.

Zach Feifel

Go back to the beginning of the classroom scene and get a look at Wyoming. He looks like a knock off Mario.

Fun fact: Although it's true that they have a rule to not show the faces of anyone from the main cast, including Washington, there is actually one instance when we see a glimpse: It's extremely easy to miss, but if you pause Episode 6 at around 2:45 minute (the shot, where you can see the whole ,,classroom'' they are in) you can actually see the back of Wash's head. He is sitting at the second desk to the left, next to York (This is also the only camera shot you can see him in the scene, because in others he is either out of frame or covered by something). So although we will never see his full face because of the ,,rule'', we at least know that they actually made Washington's 3d model without the helmet, and it's confirmed that he has blonde hair. So, at least we have something xD

The opening shot is meant to throw you off with all the male jokes until Theta is revealed. He’s a new AI in the terms of he hasn’t appeared before now. It’s remarked during the training that North’s stunt with the shield on the airship had a .1% chance of working, which highlights just how important they are to the freelancers and their operations. The state of rampancy is running unchecked or restrained; and is a subject being thoroughly covered in the Freelancer classroom. Metastability is the designation of an AI as nearly human. Obviously this is of interest to the AI known as Sigma. Sigma was originally designated to be Carolina’s AI: but because of the circumstances around Maine, she bequeathed it to him. There is also something worth pointing out behind the screen here: Sigma’s VA is none other than Elijah Wood. Yes, THAT one. South is visibly frustrated because she doesn’t have an AI. There’s very subtle looks between the Chancellor and the Director during her outbursts. Delta said in S6, that one of the experiments was to see what would happen if one sibling received an AI and another did not. You also hit on Theta’s personality component without realizing it, but you did actually say it. I’ll leave it for now. TheReds are wondering what Carolina’s plans are for them - which is a fair question. They’ll probably tell Caboose to go out in front of them if that happens. The scene where the Director tears Carolina a new one is going to be relevant on several fronts, but it’s also important to note: she’s not so much paying attention to him as the leaderboard behind her… and seeing her name behind Texas. This must be really hard on her… (bow chicks bow wow!) ===This comment has been interrupted===

Season 10 packs a lot of background information into short scenes later, so be on the lookout. The introduction from Hargrove in episode 7, for example, was the hint that project freelancer isn't long for the world. Now that the canon war between humanity and the Covenant is over, the military is reviewing a lot of the projects it ran during the war that had a lot of autonomy, such as Freelancer. The Director knows he can't hide the inconsistencies in the program, so he's more and more desperate to succeed his goals for the project before problems start coming up from the military's oversight committee.

These groups episodes were fantastic. It’s weird this show started off as laughs and is now has me digesting everything we just watched and anticipating what’s to come so badly. I am also holding back from just binging. I want to go farther! It’s just so freaking good! And Theta and North were super cute here. Wash too lol 😂 🎆

He was actually designed to look like Geoff, Griffs va, who around the time the season was airing actually had a mustache just like that

kamenriderhime

Ohhhh cool, thanks for the info!!! That makes total sense. Oof, poor baby....it does seem directly linked to Alpha's torturing and "abandoning" trust, leading to Theta having trauma from that :(((((

kamenriderhime

Yes!!!! I wasn't sure about that person, guess we'll find out who it is soon. WHOA, that is awesome about Elijah Wood!!!!!!!!! I can't freaking get over that!!!!

kamenriderhime

OMG, I need to go back!!!!!!!!! I didn't even notice haha! So cool that he was modeled after Griff's VA!!!

kamenriderhime

YES!!! Omg right?! Like we still have laughs but somewhere along the way, things got real! Me tooooo!!! It's so good!!! I LOVE Theta and North!!! And Wash, you know he's my man lol!!!

kamenriderhime

OMG REALLY!!!! My man is a blonde?!?!!? I must go back and see!!! Thanks so much for the info! I have his real first name and hair color, I feel like I've known him forever LOL!

kamenriderhime

Oooh, good to know! Interesting....that is a good hint. Makes sense they'd dig deeper now that the fighting is done. Oof, that desperation just continues to rise I guess!! Can't wait to see more!

kamenriderhime

Lol it threw me off alright!! I love Theta so far! Oh good call about the remark about percentages. Yeah the classroom scene was very telling, and I loved getting to see Sigma! That was so nice of Carolina to do! AHHHHHH I am dying over the fact that Elijah Wood is Sigma's VA! Yeah South is clearly upset. Ohhhhhh I do remember that comment from season 6, about how they toyed with them by giving one sibling an AI but not the other. Oh, is it trust??? That's what someone else said!!! I can't remember what I said lol. Hahah poor Caboose, he'll do it too! Ohhhh good call that Carolina is focused on being behind Tex in that moment! LOL!!!!!!! Okay Tucker has officially had way too much influence here haha!!!

2022-12-31 00:39:13 I love these episodes. I think it’s impressive that they are still able to do such interesting things with mostly talking even with the addition of all the action and complex stuff. I adore the cute and childlike Theta his personality is so endearing. Also he’s purple and that’s just an awesome color. Theta’s skill and control with the shield is awesome and I really like the friendship with North that helps as well. Theta was trust and like others said makes you sad to think about how he was created. It makes sense that everyone is nervous about Carolina because of her aggression & not having any information. And now you get the reveal that Carolina feels guilty and partially responsible for the whole Meta mess by implying that the AI she gave to Maine started the whole thing. As well as implying the Director maybe wanted this to happen at least to some degree for his research. When she says he did not account for variables I think it was the human one with how people can be manipulated as well as Sigma’s desire for complete humanity. I love the classroom scene because of the interactions. It also shows how the Director’s experiments affected his soldiers & caused a lot of division in the team. I am really excited that you have finally met Sigma. Even though I knew he was voiced by Elijah Wood I am still always surprised by the fact because it’s just crazy and awesome. I really like the unsettling effect they put on his voice. You can already see him being a little suspicious. Carolina was certainly illustrative with what she wanted everyone to know and Caboose’s sound effects were fantastic LOL. I think Wash is so smart to use a sort of reverse psychology to get the Reds to continue the mission. Sarge does like him even if it’s in a backhanded Sarge way. South is generally unpleasant but not having an AI is not helping. I am one of those people who hate and think birds are assholes but I am not for killing them let alone just for target practice and not for sustenance. And I agree the Director needs to chill LOL. Calling what’s happening and seeing things unfold interesting is such an understatement but what else can you really say right? Awesome reaction & keep up the great work. :-) <3

They're great! Theta is sooo awesome! I love purple too haha. The shield work is pretty sweet and the bond with North is really sweet as well. That makes sense that he's trust! Yeah that's some real guilt that Carolina is carrying. It does hurt things with the Reds and Blues that they're so much in the dark though. Ahhh that makes sense about the "human" variable. Sigma is awesome and I can't believe I didn't pick up on the voice! The classroom scene was telling for sure. Yeah the voice effect is really not helping Sigma's credibility haha. Caboose and his sound effects hahaha! Yeah I loved watching Wash do some psychology flexing there haha. Lol everything Sarge does is the unconventional Sarge Way I suppose! I'm glad you can agree that the bird thing was uncalled for even if you don't care for birds!! The Director really has no chill lol. Haha yeah I have a feeling that's putting it mildly!!!! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and for all the awesome support, I appreciate it!!! Sorry I'm late responding!!!! ^_^
