My Hero Academia 6x07 "Disaster Walker" reaction & review (Patreon)

Hey everyone!  Here's my next reaction to MHA!  Oh man, so many great hero moments in here, quite literally!!!  I was so proud of our boys and of all our kids - they've had to step up in the worst of crises and it just shows like crazy on the amount of character they've developed.  I'm worried about Midnight!!!  But gosh, what a moment for Momo....I know she can do it!  Not to mention, we've still got Machia to worry about, and Shigaraki has apparently "dissolved" his partnership with All for One (see what I did there????)!  I'm dying to see what happens next - and I'm excited and scared all at once!!!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Eric from Blind Wave has a theory that maybe All for One was basically transforming Shigaraki into a new vessel for him, and after the scene in Shigaraki’s mind this episode I feel like that’s actually a good possibility. Also, I’m loving this arc, but holy crap it’s stressful. I was in tears even though nothing especially terrible happened cause I’m so worried for everyone.

Hi Hime :) Sorry to misguide you last week about Shigaraki, but at least it saves you spoilers hehe. When Izuku says that Aizawa has been protecting them all this time, you can see the water next to Aizawa's eyes getting bigger, it's not Manual who made them bigger, but Aizawa's tears. Aizawa is a big softie deep down, we all know that. Since you evoke the Izuku/Shigaraki parallel, I add an interesting one. Aizawa and Midnight, are like parental figures for the students, and in this episode you see them trusting their "children" for the future. While on the contrary AfO tries to take control of his student. It's almost ironic that Shigaraki, who fights to destroy a world governed by rules preventing him from being free, is himself under someone's control. Finally, I would just say that Momo has class at the end, it's going to be her moment of leadership.

Hi Spadeas! :) Lol no worries, it was a twist this way!! Oh, that's so meaningful that those were tears!!! Aizawa is totally a big softie1 I can totally see the Aizawa/Midnight parallel to AFO too, in the parenting vs. control aspects. It really is ironic that he's under control right?? I know Momo is going to do great, so proud of her!!!!!!!!

2022-12-31 00:39:13 This episode and your reaction are amazing. I agree the beginning shots of everyone’s loved ones really do a great job of showing what’s at stake if the heroes fail. AFO smiling is chilling. It’s crazy that this is what we have to be thankful for at this point but at least these high ends can’t think for themselves. It’s something I didn’t notice at first until it was pointed out but these high ends are just killing heroes way in the background and its horrifying especially the one with Teeth just chomping on a guy. The Doctor just won’t shut up and I guess the information is helpful to us but it’s so annoying I don’t know how Mic is stopping himself from punching him of I know I would LOL. It’s insane that Shigaraki is able to negate attacks with the air he can create. I think it’s great how impactful all the attacks are. It’s such a slap in the face that he’s doing the heroic fist in the air especially for Endeavor after all he’s done to become a better person and the hero he wants to be. It's a horrible thing to do but it’s great writing. It shows how fast decay is that even with control Shiggy could only save so many Nomu capsules. I was so scared for Aizawa when Shigaraki went after him because of how fast he was &amp; everything slowing down made it so suspenseful. I think it’s funny but awesome how Eraser pulls a knife on Shigaraki even though it wouldn’t do much. I love that the reason he’s so determined to live and stop this monster is to see his kids (because that’s what that are to him) grow up and graduate. And that voice acting my Lord. Izuku showing up is the hypest thing. I love how the only thought on his mind is his teacher not really for the strategic reason of his power but mostly because of everything their teacher did for him and his friends. It was one of the sweetest things and Aizawa most likely crying because of it is so heartwarming. It makes me so happy to see Izuku &amp; Bakugo working together like this. Also seeing the black whip power at work restraining someone is really cool. Seeing Izuku fly past in the background is one of the funniest things in the show. I love the Gran Torino moment about how he’s experienced fighting someone this strong thanks to training All Might. I think it’s less that Shigaraki doesn’t know his grandmother from the picture and more that he doesn’t know her name. Also this old man is ripped like damn. His thoughts make me think he might not be thinking of him as a villain completely as well. The little brother line is freaky because it was involuntary &amp; I love how Shigaraki and Izuku immediately know what’s going on. The scars are clearly from all his injuries but the one scar over Shigaraki’s eye to me symbolically represents AFO coming to the surface. I think it’s such a great moment for him as a character &amp; villain for Shigaraki that he is making everything he’s doing his own and not allowing his master to control/dictate his decisions. The imagery/symbolism of him disintegrating his master is brilliant. It definitely feels like AFO wanted to create a perfect vessel to take over in Shiggy but now that this has happened I don’t know if that’s where the story will go but it’s definitely a possibility. Also I think this was just putting his master’s voice in time out. The idea of wanting to be better than his master when his master might as well be considered the devil in this show is terrifying but also a really strong moment. You must be high says Mr. 4/20 birthday boy Bakugo himself LOL. I love the teamwork with Endeavor because of his thoughts of self reflection and development being very accepting of help coming so far since the start of the show. The imagery of fiery wings which connects to Phoenix symbolism around Endeavor is beautiful. Also the animation for his vanishing fist attack is incredible. I thought it was the case but it’s much clearer in the dub Shigaraki wanted Gigantomachia to bring his friends to him. Listen Compress might be a villain but he’s the number one supporter of public decency LOL. I think I know what Dabi wants with Skeptic so here’s my theory he wants to get to the city and start to record and broadcast everything that’s going on while he rants about how these false heroes have fallen &amp; everything wrong with this hero society at first. And then he will reveal his identity along with all the terrible things Endeavor did in the past as a way to demoralize everyone and destroy hope/belief in heroes. I mean he is theatrically bowing in the opening. We haven’t been able to tell how strong Mount Lady is since she never is against someone of a comparable size to her but to even slow down the monster Giganto shows how strong she is and emphasizes how dangerous he is. Seeing the ice villain get swallowed up by cement I’m just like he’s dead right? This was an amazing moment for Cementoss talking about putting their lives on the line especially how fierce his face is. Hearing Kamui call out Lady’s real name and the tone he used when she was in danger tells me there is some romantic stuff between them which has been hinted at before. It sucks that they can worry about the others and have to stay focused. Dabi was very clever with the sneak attacks. It’s hilarious how annoyed he is when Compress points out that he underestimates heroes. The voice acting really shows how injured Midnight. It’s really sad to see her feel so defeated and realizing that the heroes weren’t strong enough. The desperation was real here. The kids were put under a lot of pressure but there really was no choice. Midnight could be dead which just goes to show the intensity keeps going higher. I love Momo as a character so seeing her step up was amazing it’s a culmination of her development so far. Her determination was awesome and I love that she uses everyone’s hero names I think as a sign of respect. I agree we really do need any levity we can get at this point. Yay, I'm so happy you enjoyed it! OOF, that's terrifying about the high ends just offing heroes in the background! Oh I know, Present Mic's got more restraint than me too lol. And yeah, the fist in the air is salt in the wound. Oh I know, when he goes after Aizawa, I think all our souls left their bodies for a second!!! I love that he's trying to protect the kids too. The Izuku and Izuku/Bakugo stuff is so satisfying!!! We know how hard Izuku has worked to get this far and also how much the two of them have gone through in building a friendship. Yeah I'm getting that sense too, that AFO really wants to just take over Shigaraki! Gran Torino is in better shape than he lets on for sure. And also really sad that Shigaraki doesn't know her name. Omg Bakugo's birthday is 4/20, that's too funny! And yes Endeavor has also come a long way. I feel like we're seeing the results of how hard everyone's been working in their own way. Interesting about the dub being clearer regarding Machia. Compress is a villain but has some interesting high moral standards when it comes to clothing lol! And that's crazy, Dabi could do so much damage just with facts. Ohhh I hadn't thought about possible romantic stuff between Kamui and Lady! I know, it's so hard to see Midnight injured, and so true that we can't even focus on injured heroes right now because of all that's going on. The voice acting is splendid as well! It's so intense right now!!! Living for that little bit of levity they throw us for sure!!! I'm so happy you liked my reaction and discussion, thanks for being so awesome and supportive!!! ^_^
