Hey everyone!  Here I am with Red vs. Blue, season 10, eps 11 - 13!  I LOVED the character stuff we got here!  Those moments with York's journal entries, the growing rapport between Church and Carolina, diving deeper into how everything went down with Carolina, etc.!  Man, that fierce competitive edge is both a really good and a really bad thing!  So she had two AIs.....this should be interesting!  Also, I was grateful for the silly bits we got here, like the wishing-for-Grif-to-die song and Agent Caboose!!  Also, I think even Wash is starting to realize how long it's been since he had true comradery.  Can't wait to see what happens next!  Great eps!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

So, you're right about Delta talking about Carolina having two AIs in the past. I'm paraphrasing a little, but he said that as an experiment the Director wanted to see what would happen if an agent received two AIs. As we see here, the situation wasn't quite what Delta portrayed, but in fairness he wasn't in the room. Then, in response to Church being snarky, Delta says: "Correct. She only functioned for a short time, and not very well while she did." In case you weren't nervous enough about the next set of episodes yet. York's death is one of those plot points that really didn't mean much at the time, but they have spent the entire flashback arc, both seasons, showing him as just about the nicest guy in Project Freelancer. Besides North Dakota, who dies before we even meet him in Recovery One. You could almost say there's a lesson there about being too nice, except Maine, South Dakota, Wyoming and Sigma are all dead as well. I guess the lesson is don't do experiments with aggressive AI. Of everyone who's ever been shown having an AI in their head for an extended amount of time, the person who came out with the least damage is Caboose.

I can't help but think that Tex is so aggressive because of Omega, like when she killed CT btw. It's honestly so sad that Maine is just kinda losing himself to Sigma. And just seeing how Sigma is stirring the pot and causing chaos. Calling Tex not the best Freelancer and everything, playing on Carolina's insecurities. Literally the devil on her shoulder lol

Before I forget, I did want to point out that I forgot to single out that Pyrrha’s character killed Nora’s last week… which would be a really strange plot twist. Also, you’re getting three episodes a batch usually… these episodes came out one a week at the time it aired. Imagine being strung along that long. When you wish to kill a Grif… sing a happy little riff… but you should probably be slightly concerned when even Simmons knows the lyrics… and woke up with an “allegedly” loaded rifle in his hand. The scene with North and York isn’t just about their AI fragments it also is meant to draw focus to York’s concern for Carolina, given the reveals on the next episode. Tucker and Carolina might have the same color armor but they’re definitely not the same people… but boy Caboose set Tucker up for a line drop and he was so mad he couldn’t even do it. This might’ve thrown you off, but the offscreen voiceover when Carolina goes back to the fortress they mistakenly credit Tex’s lines as hers. It’s the same dialogue that took place in Out of Mind. Also Church said he couldn’t pick up chicks as Optimus Prime… excuse me, that was disproven long before this series aired. 😏 “I know what it’s like to spend your life chasing ghosts…” - considering all Church went through looking for Tex he probably understands Carolina more than anyone. Also she noticed the lighter York was talking about was on the floor of the fortress. No doubt he dropped it during the events of that miniseries. Also it’s kind of clever when you can just do a close up shot of a expressionless helmet (Carolina watching York’s message) and still kind of see their emotion. Church said Carolina went to find something she’d lost. Perhaps it was the human part of herself. I mean, look where Washington was when we found him. And where he is in Project Freelancer. “How does this show go from cute and fun to amazing character moments?” …what’s the other show you watch from this company on a regular basis, again? Speaking of Washington, I hate to do this… but Caboose did use… (drumroll)… the F word… Sigma is indeed manipulating Carolina with the help of Gamma. At one point they even use the concept of being “together…” which is a nod to the fact they’re fragments. Carolina’s push into the scheduled rotation and asking for two AI’s also pushed her teammates back, and yes you are recalling correctly that Delta was talking about her in previous seasons regarding this, I won’t say more than that though. If you remember who gets who this “power play” suddenly becomes all that more significant. PS: Have you been sufficiently loaded with the OST information? We still have about a month at this rate, but if not, put out a request again so you can get it on time! :)

Oh no rvb isn’t supposed to get me teared up. I’ve also loved Yorks personality and character this season. These three episodes were so sweet but somber considering the now. 🥲😢🤧

kamenriderhime

Oh good, I'm glad I remembered that! That's true, Delta might not know all the details. OOF, I had forgotten the line about not functioning well....!! Omg, seriously, who knew York was going to be such an awesome character that we called upon so much! Poor North and York, they were too good for this world!!! I mean, all the not as nice ones died too, so that's true. But they did live longer lol. Yeah who knew that experimenting with AI this way would end badly? *snark lol* You know, you're right that Caboose has the least damage!!! I guess that's just another sign of how awesome he is!!!

kamenriderhime

Yeah, that's a good point. Poor CT!! I know, it's really sad about Maine, watching the struggle as it happens is pretty heartbreaking. He seriously is the devil on her shoulder!!! Such a manipulator!!!!

kamenriderhime

Right?!!?!? What's happening haha. York's awesome! Sweet but somber is the best way to put it!!!! :')

kamenriderhime

OMG, that's so weird to think about lol. Ooof, I can't imagine having to go ep to ep! HAHAHAH the Grif song, so magical :P Yeah I think they did well building that York was looking out for Carolina, then have the reveal about his deeper feelings and Carolina having to learn to work past her trust issues in the next ep. Ohhh yeah that probably did throw me off about the voiceover credit. Hahha the Optimus Prime line!!!! Yes I love that Church gets this the most. Ohhhhh that's what the lighter was, ok. OMG I know, how on earth do we get emotion through those helmets so well!!! I agree about losing humanity, it's something we've seen with many of the Freelancers for sure. HAHAHAHA the best F word there is!!!! :P The manipulation was pretty intense! I'm glad I remembered that right!!! It's kinda good in a way that I don't remember all the details because it will be more of a surprise that way lol. Oh thanks for the reminder! Next time I post the schedule, I'll ask for it!! Thanks!! :D

Sigma and Gamma did more than point Carolina to ask for two AI, they completely played her. You'll see why they act differently than the others soon enough. Also, as things come to a head, it's important to keep in mind what freelancers know what (in the past), as that will heavily influence how they react to the upcoming events. And in the present, how Church and Carolina now seem closed off to the others because they both want the Director dead, but aren't willing to share their reasons or the steps of their hunt for him with the sim troopers. The key really is in the details.

2022-12-31 00:13:08 I love these episodes because they are so emotional & character focused. I expected great reactions to all this stuff from you and you did not disappoint. I love the hijinks in episode 10 from the Reds. The song’s existence is miraculous and no one would believe you if you told them about it until they heard it LOL. Carolina is understandably angry but unfortunately that’s not going to help. I love how the flashbacks very much reflect what seems to be going on with her character. The chill conversation between York & North is hands-down one of my favorite scenes in the show. I love that we get to see how much York cared about Carolina before the official reveal that he was most likely in love with her. There is a definite sense of melancholy in this scene for the audience. Seeing how great some of the freelancers were as people makes what happens to all of them hit harder/feel worse. The calm music to me represents how they don’t know what’s coming. It also could be connected to their personalities. You can definitely feel the frustration/desperation Carolina is going through in the past which is now happening in the present. Some of the AI being anxious makes sad sense and it makes me mad to think about the trauma they went through. Episode 12 does such a great job of showing what motivates Carolina and Church. Before this we could guess what was going through her mind but it’s great to actually hear what’s going on from her. Her voice acting was incredible here it really sells the sadness of the situation and how everything in the past affects her even without knowing everything/the full context of what happened. I love that Church was able to realize what she needed and help her by showing all these logs. It hurts that he is right in front of her but she can’t reach him because he is a ghost. It’s so emotionally impactful and interesting to hear him talk about the past and his feelings. It hurts to hear the hope in his voice dashed once he realizes it’s not Carolina going back to thinking she’s dead. It was easy to think she might have been doing this just for herself so I love that she wants to take the Director down for everyone he hurt. It makes sense that as he remembered more & more of what the Director did that Epsilon would agree with her plans. I love her change in tone and how she becomes more playful because it’s funny but strangely heartwarming. The hurricane Delta line is so good. Seeing how Sigma and seemingly Gamma manipulate/goad Carolina feels so insidious. Everything that was happening really did not help the conflict/rivalry between Tex and Carolina. It’s never enjoyable but it’s always interesting seeing interactions with the Director. I feel like this was one of the things he did not account for but of course once something like this was presented the Director would go along with it. The Counselor really tries to reign things in but always fails LOL. He was complicit in this whole project but is trying his best. Yeah I was not surprised you were getting a bad feeling from this. Sigma just watching the scene from above is extremely foreboding. I almost forgot but I also love the parallels/some similarities/connection between Carolina & Church that formed here. I will tell you how they go from silly to emotional to serious so easily great writing. Awesome reactions. I can’t wait for the next reaction. You should always be prepared just in case anything super crazy happens. Keep up the great work. :-) <3

They really did! Hmm, interesting that there's a more specific reason they act different, I figured it was just because of the "fragment" type that they are. Oh good to know that it's important to know who knows what in the past. Details are the key!!!

kamenriderhime

I'm so happy my reactions didn't disappoint!!! The song lol! Yeah sadly Carolina's not making things any easier here. The flashbacks have been awesome, I really enjoyed seeing York and North too. The rapport between Church and Carolina was great to see too, he really gets it firsthand. I couldn't agree more about the voice acting!! It also does make sense that he'd get more on board with taking down the Director the more he remembers. The playful tone was great! Yeah Sigma and Gamma were downright frightening with their manipulation! The stuff with the Director is great too, every scene gives more insight into him. Lol poor Counselor! He for sure isn't innocent of everything going on but does seem to be slightly more stable than the Director anyway lol. Yeah no kidding about the great writing! I'm so happy you enjoyed my reaction!!!!!! Thanks for being so awesome!!!! ^_^
